This paper describes the possibilities of using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology based on object modeling in transport infrastructure projects. The main focus was on investments such as roads and railways. The objectives of implementing this technology were presented and its benefits for participants of the construction process were discussed. The basic principles, norms and documents related to the BIM methodology have been outlined. Then it was described at what stage the introduction of this technology is on the Polish market. Finally, examples of "implementation" projects currently implemented by the main managers of the rail and road network in Poland, ie PKP PLK and GDDKiA, were shown. Keywords: civil engineering, BIM, infrastructure.

The use of information modeling technology, Building Information Modeling (BIM), for the quality control system and improving the safety level of buildings and structures allows for a much higher level of design, construction and operation. It is necessary to predict the different building conditions in the implementation of planning processes, that should be made safely and reasonably. This paper presents a summary of specific examples, that show the results of successful implementation of this method with reference to capital construction objects of varying complexity.

With application and popularization of information modeling technology, both Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) could represent three dimensional models in different fields. By introducing application features of GIS and BIM in Metro construction, this paper presents such a thought that effective combination of GIS and BIM may play a role at different stages in metro construction.

Abstract Construction project management is difficult process and important part of efficiency and productivity in construction industry. Currently, construction industry is increasing demands on technology, environmental and social construction parameters in the context of maintaining the balance of economic efficiency and sustainability of the construction and realization of buildings. Progressive technology as knowledge systems and building information modeling are the supporting tool for achieving this. Building information modeling is a progressive intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently in planning, designing and buildings and infrastructure managing. Knowledge and building information modeling technology include a lot of functions and opportunities for better and easier way to achieve project goal and affect to construction project management process. Research discusses the issue of construction project management trough building information modeling and knowledge technology. The main aim of the paper is to analyze impact of these technologies on efficiency in construction project management.
