The scientific novelty of the results presented in this article is to substantiate and expand the possibilities of using global and local geographic information systems (GIS) to assess the potential of renewable energy sources in Ukraine. GIS analysis focused on key resource parameters can help identify territories for development of renewable energy sources and assess of their possible technical potential, as well as the possibility of effective integration of technologies for the use of renewable energy sources in the energy sector of Ukraine. In this paper the possibilities for using geographic information systems to assess the potential of renewable energy sources in Ukraine are analyzed. The possibility of using the Global Atlas of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to support planning of technologies for the use of energy from biomass is analyzed. The data can point to large-scale programs and applications in relation to key parameters (quality resources, transmission distance, population density, terrain and site protection), helping identify additional areas for development of renewable energy sources and give an approximate assessment of technical potential. It is determined that the software products of IRENA are able to support national and regional planning of renewable energy technologies, help establish the viability of future renewable energy facilities and help project developers identify and analyze promising facilities for the implementation of technologies using renewable energy. The application of geographic information systems of Ukrainian web resources (“UA MAP”) for assessing the potential of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in Ukraine is been analyzed. The scientific novelty of the results lies in applying global and local GIS for comprehensive assessment of the potential and effectiveness of the use of regional non-traditional and renewable energy resources on the territory of Ukraine. This makes it possible to assess the possibilities of generating additional electric and thermal power for the needs of the regions of Ukraine using non-traditional and renewable energy sources. A comprehensive methodology for the use of GIS is proposed for assessing the potential of non-traditional and renewable energy sources at the regional level in Ukraine, taking into account energy, environmental and socio-economic factors affecting the placement of non-traditional and renewable energy facilities.

Abstract Meulaboh City is one of the regions in the province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam in the territorial waters Indian Ocean as a port. Meulaboh Port is very important in improving the economy and meeting the needs of the community, especially in the District of West Aceh. Coastal waters are very susceptible to tidal flooding (rob) due to sea level fluctuations with the highest water level which has the potential to cause flooding areas around residential areas. The research study was conducted to analyze the mapping of potential tidal flood areas (rob) using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Tidal height analysis is carried out using the Admiralty method, depiction of ground surface contour elevation and tidal flooding (rob) is analyzed based on Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, and mapping of potential inundation areas between tidal flood surface elevations (ROB) with administrative maps of Meulaboh City carried out with a Geographic Information System (GIS) that uses Arcgis software. The results showed that the highest tidal flood water level (rob) was at an altitude of 0.78 m above the mean sea level (MSL) and resulted in the potential area of flood inundation areas reaching 18.18 Km2. The total of flood inundation area affected 11 villages and caused losses to the community, especially in the villages of Kampung Pasir, Suak Indrapuri, Suak Raya, and Suak Nie. Keywords: Meulaboh, tides, admiralty, and geographic information systems.

The ethical risks which emerge from the cross section of artificial intelligence, extended reality, and geographic information systems could be examined in two broad categories of environmental and user-centric interactions of human beings with AI-curated mixed realities. These categories resonate with the capacity of AI to significantly impact the efficient application of extended reality technologies, while utilizing geodata and behavioral modelling to alter and transform experiences. While regulatory frameworks are catching up with the rights of users in the digital economy, the recently accelerated growth of immersive technologies provides further scenarios and use cases, which ought to be considered for their capacity to amplify biases, produce alternative realities, and affect human emotions.

The problem in this study is related to the number of developments, especially those aimed at their designation, which is not by the existing regional spatial plan. This is because many developments are located in disaster-prone areas, coastal border areas, and protected areas. This also triggers changes in land use that are quite large from time to time. This study aims to determine the use of utilization with a regional spatial plan. This study uses quantitative methods to determine developments based on data in the Sangihe Islands Regency, analyzing image data and knowing the level of suitability of land use with the RTRW. The method of analysis in this study uses a method of spatial analysis based on geographic information systems (GIS) using supervised classification, scoring, weighting, overlay. The variables in this study include land use, spatial planning, and adjustments. The results show that the land area in the Regional Spatial Plan is suitable for land use in particular for an area of 3,202.65 hectares and not suitable for an area of 17,946.03 hectares from the total area of the existing land use.

The distribution and the competence of firefighting stations in koya town is one of the main problems that this town suffers from, and this led us to conduct an academic study in this respect with the use of Geographic Information Systems. This system illustrates the competence and the services of firefighting stations according to world standard in terms of the times that they take (3-5 minutes) to arrive at the destination according to the distance and the road network, so based on these criteria, the firefighting service can only cover (34%) of the town. It can be deduced that this problem mainly results from misdistribution of firefighting stations and the poor road transportation network. This study, basing on the universal standards, proposes five new firefighting stations in koya in order to be able to cover the whole town and offer a good service in this respect for the present time and for future.

This paper considers the problem of extracting geoattributed entities from natural language texts to visualize the spatial relations of geographical objects. For visualization we use the technology of automated generation of schematic maps as subject-oriented components of geographic information systems. The paper describes the information technology that allows extracting geoattributed entities from natural language texts by combining several approaches. These are the neural network approach, the rule-based approach and the approach based on the use of lexico-syntactic patterns for the analysis of natural language texts. For data visualization we propose to use automated geocoding tools in conjunction with the capabilities of modern geographic information systems. The result of this technology is a cartogram that displays the spatial relations of the objects mentioned in the text.
