Technology provides space and challenge for universities to grow, innovate and compete globally. The higher education has long stood as a producer of knowledge. But the problem is that often the knowledge available in higher Education are not well managed. Politeknik Keuangan Negara STAN as an institution of higher education in the Ministry of Finance must undeniably have good knowledge management. Knowledge management has long been used as a system for managing knowledge by combining advances in information technology and organizational cultures. This research will discuss some alternative implementations of knowledge management in PKN STAN through five approaches, the approach function, structure approach, system approach, the approach flow of knowledge and conceptual approaches/SECI formulations. This study is expected to trigger more technical studies in the form of a knowledge management system design. The use of modeling language UML (unified modeling language) is suggested for further technical studies related to the development of knowledge management system at PKN STAN. UML will directly generate knowledge management model that can be immediately implemented.

Sejalan dengan arah perubahan dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi, saat ini penyebaran informasi dilakukan dengan sangat cepat dan teratur. Proses pelaksanaan pekerjaan menjadi lebih sistematis dan dapat memberikan hasil yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Begitu juga dalam hal penyebaran ilmu atau pengetahuan yang dimiliki Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM). Saat ini telah berkembang sistem penyebaran ilmu yang telah dikelola secara teratur. Sistem tersebut dikenal dengan Knowledge Management System (KMS). Unit Donor Darah PMI Kabupaten Tangerang saat ini belum memiliki suatu sistem tata kelola sharing knowledge SDM yang memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan, yang membuat sebagian SDM selalu kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang di hadapinya di lapangan. Untuk itu, Knowledge Management System dapat menjadi solusi dari masalah tersebut. Knowledge Management System dapat membantu terlaksananya program pembelajaran bagi SDM secara lebih mudah karena telah terdokumentasi secara rapi dan teratur. Lebih lanjut, penulis menggunakan Unified Modeling Language (UML) sebagai salah satu alat bantu untuk memodelkan secara visual yang dapat digunakan dalambahasa pemograman yang berorientasi objek dan metode analisis PIECES untuk mengidentifikasi kondisi PMI saat ini dalam pembelajaran SDM. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang tersebar pada Unit Donor Darah PMI Kabupaten Tangerang dapat terindetifikasi, terdokumentasi dan termanfaatkan secara lebih optimal.   Knowledge Management System, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Analisis PIECES, Sharing Knowledge

Sharing knolwedge merupakan komponen penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas. Namun dalam pelaksanaan di Badan Nasional Penempatan dan Perlindungan Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (BNP2TKI), sharing knowledge menjadi bermasalah ketika yang digunakan masih dilakukan secara manual yaitu dengan bertatap muka dalam pelaksanaannya sehingga, menyebabkan kesulitan bagi pegawai maupun TKI dalam mengimplentasikannya selain itu terdapat redudansi data dalam setiap responnya dan publikasi knowledge yang tidak teratur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan Knowledge Management System (KMS) yang dapat membantu pegawai dan TKI dalam melakukan sharing knowledge agar memperoleh data atau informasi sesuai kebutuhan yaitu dengan menyediakan dokumen, video, berita dan layanan diskusi guna memenuhi kebutuhan KMS. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, untuk pengembangan sistem metode yang digunakan Rapid Application Development (RAD) sedangkan dalam pengimplementasian KMS menggunakan Knowledge Management Process, serta perancangan KMS menggunakan pemodelan Unified Modeling Language (UML). Bahasa pemrograman yang digunakan dalam membangun sistem adalah PHP dan MySQL. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem yang dapat memudahkan sharing knowledge antar pegawai BNP2TKI dan TKI agar mendukung peningkatan kualitas TKI.

Knowledge Management System (KMS) aims to improve the quality of human resources in an organization by improving communication among employees and to increase skill by transferring knowledge. Knowledge Management System (KMS) is one of many ways to foster a culture of knowledge sharing among individuals and organizations. In this research, the researcher tries to develop a model of knowledge management system suitable for existing condition at the Academic Administration Bureau of Nusantara Tourism Academy. The method used in this research is SSM model framework, while the knowledge is formed using SECI model. The system is designed by using Unified Modeling Language (UML) method. The functional system is tested using using FGD method with success rate of 90% and software quality is tested using MCcall's method with success rate of 87.75%. The result of this research is the Knowledge Management System prototype that can be a solution to share knowledge because it can properly record the employees’ knowledge and experience and can support the employees’ performance at Academic Administration Bureau of Nusantara Tourism Academy.

A R&I&i process for a knowledge management system development is presented. It transforms different institutions experiences into organisational knowledge applicable to an entire sector, the higher education one specifically. The knowledge management system allows classifying, organising, distributing and facilitating the application of the knowledge generated by the faculty. A study, with more than 1000 system users, reflects that the system helps to the faculty in the way they perform educational innovation activities. The supported model integrates both Nonaka's epistemological and ontological spirals. This allows defining ontologies and used them in order to transform the individual knowledge into organisational one. The knowledge management system encapsulates complex logic expressions and ontologies management, making easy for the users obtaining successful results that may organise in their own way, becoming a powerful knowledge management process that combines epistemological and ontological knowledge spirals to convert individual experiences in educational innovation into organisational knowledge in the higher education sector.

Since knowledge management (KM) is considered to be an important function of the successful business operation, many organizations are embracing KM. The success of a KM project is dependent upon its contents. This paper presents a method for building an effective knowledge model which can help businesses analyze and specify knowledge contents. The method takes a decision-oriented view. For the modeling language of the method, Unified Modeling Language (UML) has been chosen. The method is applied to the vessel scheduling process in a maritime shipping company. The steps and rules are explained using an example, and the strengths and weaknesses of the method are discussed.
