This may be observed in the terms of variation in size, area fraction and even the morphology of the particles. It is mainly the size and topography of these particles which govern the Mechanical, Optoelectronics, properties and have a huge impact in Bio-medical engineering.

Oxide phases having the hollandite structure have been identified in multiphase ceramic waste forms being developed for radioactive waste disposal. High resolution studies of phases in the waste forms described in Ref. [2] were initiated to examine them for fine scale structural differences compared to natural mineral analogs. Two hollandites were studied: a (Ba,Cs,K)-titan-ate with minor elements in solution that is produced in the waste forms, and a synthesized BaAl2Ti6O16 phase containing ∼ 4.7 wt% Cs2O. Both materials were consolidated by hot pressing at temperatures above 1100°C. Samples for high resolution microscopy were prepared both by ion-milling (7kV argon ions) and by crushing and dispersing the fragments on holey carbon substrates. The high resolution studies were performed in a JEM 200CX/SEG operating at 200kV.

ABSTRACT Several chemical differences between FSH, LH and HCG have been reported: thus LH and HCG are richer in proline than FSH and FSH and HCG contain more N-acetyl neuraminic acid than LH. Sub-units of LH are formed by treatment with urea, guanidine or acid. HCG also may contain two sub-units. The sub-units from LH are biologically inert but retain their immunological activity: biological activity is restored when the sub-units are incubated together. There is much evidence from chemical and enzymic reactions that antigenic groups are distinct from those parts of the molecule essential for biological activity. N-acetyl neuraminic acid and probably other carbohydrates in FSH and HCG are not involved in immunological activity but are necessary for biological activity. Histidine, methionine and possibly cysteine appear to be essential for biological but not immunological activity of FSH, while tryptophan and possibly tyrosine are not essential for either. A few highly specific antisera to gonadotrophins have been prepared in rabbits and guinea pigs to crude antigens: there is no evidence that purified antigens are more likely to produce specific antisera. Differences in the immunological reactivities of urinary compared with pituitary gonadotrophins have been observed both by radioimmunoassay and by the complement fixation technique. The latter may be particularly useful for detecting structural differences in the hormones.

AbstractDaniel Chwolson (1819–1911) made a huge impact upon the research of Hebrew epigraphy from the Crimea and Caucasus. Despite that, his role in the more-than-a-century-long controversy regarding Crimean Hebrew tomb inscriptions has not been well studied. Chwolson, at first, adopted Abraham Firkowicz’s forgeries, and then quickly realized his mistake; however, he could not back up. Th e criticism by both Abraham Harkavy and German Hebraists questioned Chwolson’s scholarly qualifications and integrity. Consequently, the interference of political pressure into the academic argument resulted in the prevailing of the scholarly flawed opinion. We revisit the interpretation of these findings by Russian, Jewish, Karaite and Georgian historians in the 19th and 20th centuries. During the Soviet period, Jewish Studies in the USSR were in neglect and nobody seriously studied the whole complex of the inscriptions from the South of Russia / the Soviet Union. The remnants of the scholarly community were hypnotized by Chwolson’s authority, who was the teacher of their teachers’ teachers. At the same time, Western scholars did not have access to these materials and/or lacked the understanding of the broader context, and thus a number of erroneous Chwolson’s conclusion have entered academic literature for decades.

The Global Navigation Satellite System has a huge impact on both the public and private sectors, including the social-economic development, it has many applications and is an integral part of many domains. The application of the satellite navigation systems remains the most relevant in the field of transport, including land, air and maritime transport. The GLONASS system consists of three segments and the operation of the entire system depends on functioning of each component, but primarily, the accuracy of measurements depends on the basis forming of the control segment and management, responsible for forming ephemeris-time information. In the work, the influence of ephemeris-time information on the accuracy of solving the navigation problem by the signals of the GLONASS satellite navigation system has been analyzed. The influence of both ephemeris information and the frequency information, and of the time corrections has been individually studied. The accuracy of the ephemeris-time information is especially important when solving the navigation problem by highly precise positioning method. For the analysis the following scenarios of the navigation problem solving have been formed: using high-precision and broadcast ephemeris-time information, a combination of broadcast (high-precision) ephemeris-time information, and high-precision (broadcast) satellite clock offsets and two scenarios with simulation of the calculation of the relative correction to the radio signal carrier frequency. Based on the study results it has been concluded that the contribution of the frequency-time corrections to the error of location determination is of the greatest importance and a huge impact on the error location, while the errors of the ephemeris information are insignificant

Abstract Despite the differences between Japanese and styles, both will have a huge impact on their national economies. In terms of cultural management styles will continue to present significant differences. Although nothing is certain, both Americans and Japanese must continue to adapt their management styles to maintain global competitiveness. In general, human resources, labor relations within organizations are mainly features that differentiate the Japanese management system of other countries, especially the US.
