Dynamic Analysis of Prey-Predator Model with Harvesting

Employing the Lotka -Voltera (1926) prey-predator model equation, the system is presented with harvesting effort for both species prey and predator. We analyze the stability of the system of ordinary differential equation after calculating the Eigen values of the system. We include the harvesting term for both species in the model equation, and observe the dynamic analysis of prey-predator populations by including the harvesting efforts on the model equation. We also analyze the population dynamic of the system by varying the harvesting efforts on the system. The model equation are solved numerically by applying Runge - Kutta fourth order method.

The problem involves the determination of a biharmonic generalized plane-stress function satisfying certain boundary conditions. We expand the stress function in a series of non-orthogonal eigenfunctions. Each of these is expanded in a series of orthogonal functions which satisfy a certain fourth-order ordinary differential equation and the boundary conditions implied by the fact that the sides are stress-free. By this method the coefficients involved in the biharmonic stress function corresponding to any arbitrary combination of stress on the end can be obtained directly from two numerical matrices published here The method is illustrated by four examples which cast light on the application of St Venant’s principle to the strip. In a further paper by one of the authors, the method will be applied to the problem of the finite rectangle.

The stability of the solutions of an ordinary differential equation will be discussed here. The purpose of this note is to compare the stability results which are valid with respect to a compact set and the stability results valid with respect to an unbounded set. The stability of sets is a generalization of stability in the sense of Liapunov and has been discussed by LaSalle (5; 6), LaSalle and Lefschetz (7, p. 58), and Yoshizawa (8; 9; 10).

In this paper, we describe an iterative method for approximating asimple zero $z$ of a real defined function. This method is aessentially based on the idea to extend Newton's method to be theinverse quadratic interpolation. We prove that for a sufficientlysmooth function $f$ in a neighborhood of $z$ the order of theconvergence is quartic. Using Mathematica with its high precisioncompatibility, we present some numerical examples to confirm thetheoretical results and to compare our method with the others givenin the literature.

We investigate the effect of nonlinearites on a parametrically excited ordinary differential equation whose linearization exhibits the phenomena of coexistence. The differential equation studied governs the stability mode of vibration in an unforced conservative two degree of freedom system used to model the free vibrations of a thin elastica. Using perturbation methods, we show that at parameter values corresponding to coexistence, nonlinear terms can cause the origin to become nonlinearly unstable, even though linear stability analysis predicts the origin to be stable. We also investigate the bifurcations associated with this instability.

We study a dynamic fourth-order Euler-Bernoulli partial differential equation having a constant elastic modulus and area moment of inertia, a variable lineal mass densityg(x), and the applied load denoted byf(u), a function of transverse displacementu(t,x). The complete Lie group classification is obtained for different forms of the variable lineal mass densityg(x)and applied loadf(u). The equivalence transformations are constructed to simplify the determining equations for the symmetries. The principal algebra is one-dimensional and it extends to two- and three-dimensional algebras for an arbitrary applied load, general power-law, exponential, and log type of applied loads for different forms ofg(x). For the linear applied load case, we obtain an infinite-dimensional Lie algebra. We recover the Lie symmetry classification results discussed in the literature wheng(x)is constant with variable applied loadf(u). For the general power-law and exponential case the group invariant solutions are derived. The similarity transformations reduce the fourth-order partial differential equation to a fourth-order ordinary differential equation. For the power-law applied load case a compatible initial-boundary value problem for the clamped and free end beam cases is formulated. We deduce the fourth-order ordinary differential equation with appropriate initial and boundary conditions.
