Area of the StudyThis study attempts to identify the impact of performance management system on employee job satisfaction of executives in the automobile companies in western province, Sri Lanka.Problem of the StudyThe empirical finding of the impact of performance management system of the employees on their job satisfaction is rare in the Sri Lankan context. Therefore, the problem of the study is developed as: Does performance management system of executives in the automobile companies affect their job satisfaction?Method of the studyThe primary data were collected from 248 respondents in automobile companies in western province by administrating a structured questionnaire, which consisted of 44 statements with 5 points Likert scale. The data analyses included the univariat, and bivariate analyses method conducted using SPSS (version 16.0).Findings of the StudyThe major finding of the study is that there is a strong positive impact of performance management system on job satisfaction of executives in automobile companies in western province, Sri Lanka. Also findings reveal that existing level of performance management system is in high range in selected organizations.Conclusion of the StudyIt is concluded that performance management system has strong impact on employee job satisfaction of executives in automobile companies in western province, Sri Lanka.Keywords: Performance Management System, Job Satisfaction, Executives, Automobile Companies

PT. GarudaFood Putra Putri Jaya, Tbk is a food and beverage company that develops values and philosophy culture in running the company's business, namely human values, business ethics, unity through harmony, speed and leading change and working intelligently in learning culture. The goal to be achieved with the development of Human Resources is the growth of performance, both in the institution as a whole and in each worker involved in it from the top level to the bottom, with the development is expected to increase productivity and effectiveness in institutions that ultimately the company is able to increase its competitiveness. The analysis method used is structural equation modeling partial least square (SEM-PLS) analysis is used to determine the influence of performance management system on improving the competitiveness of companies in PT. Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya, Tbk and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) analysis are used to determine the best alternative strategies to encourage the success of performance management system in improving the competitiveness of companies in PT. Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya, Tbk. The results of the study showed that Performance Management obtained the most final value and ranked 1st with a value of 34.45% and Company Competitiveness in 2nd place with a final value of 15.55%. Of the independent variables, company culture (X1) has the highest weight to be taken into account because it gives the highest impact then in the second position, namely Leadership (X3), third HR Competence (X2), and the last is Job Satisfaction (X4). This study provides an in-depth understanding of how administrators perceive the purpose and value of the performance management systems in state Universities of Cameroon; how the administrator assess the effectiveness of current performance management processes in the department; the different dimensions of how administrators perceive the impact of academic managers on their work performance; the extent to which administrators respond to the process, measure and outcomes involved in operating the performance management system. The study also analyzes what administrators think is an effective performance management system in the state Universities. The research adopted a qualitative case study approach by selecting 12 administrators from 6 state Universities with varied backgrounds in terms of years of service, seniority and gender. Data were collected through in-depth, semi- structured interviews and documentary sources. Among the major findings were that the participants found the meaning and purposes of performance management ambiguous; and that the many different processes contained within the system were perceived as fragmenting and confusing in achieving the intended outcomes. Compounding the concern was the lack of dedicated and able academics to manage the process.

Learning outcomes This case will help students to improve their understanding of several important aspects of an organization’s culture and the importance of ethics in developing an organization’s culture. Students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the concept of values and their importance in business and learn what organizations should do to make their culture more value-driven. Students will be able to identify the impact an organization’s blurred culture causes and understand the concept of “value congruence” and its need to get higher employee performance. Students will be able to understand the importance of Holland’s person-job fit theory, in an organizational context, along with the impact of Hofstede’s national culture on the organizations’ culture of a country. Students will realize how a result-driven performance management system impacts an employee’s morale negatively, and discover why an organization should balance on giving equal importance to both result and behavior-based performance appraisal system. Students will develop sensitivity to the application of the “triple bottom line” and deontological approach in ethics, and determine how to formulate policies for sustainable and ethical process-driven organizations. Case overview/synopsis There are two aspects to this case. On the one hand, it talks about the ethical dilemma faced by the protagonist Mr. Vijay Shekhar while working with Smartschool.com, with its head office in Bangalore, India. On the other hand, the case focuses on the performance management system at Smartschool.com, its existing framework and the impact it has on employees and other stakeholders. The corporate world was undergoing a phase of digital transformation overrecent past years which led to adopt the work from home practice in different industry contexts and this practice had been accelerated due to the COVID-19 outbreak. To obtain the optimum outcome from employees, it is the major responsibility of the organizations to ensure that they are satisfied enough with the new work settings since employee job satisfaction is one of the significant elements of an effective workforce. Therefore,the main objective of this study was to examine the impact of work from home on employee job satisfaction in Information Communication Industry (ICT) industry in Sri Lanka. Using the survey strategy, responses were collected through questionnaires from 384 employees from the ICT industry in Sri Lanka. The findings of this study concluded that there is a positive impact of work from home on employee job satisfaction in the ICT industry in Sri Lanka as work from home gives more freedom, autonomy, and work-life balance. Further, it identified that the ICT organizations in Sri Lanka use a high level of work home practice and their employees’ job satisfaction level is also relatively high. The theoretical contribution of this study is that it extends the employee job satisfaction literature by empirically testing and validating the work from home in a new context. Also, the findings of this research are useful for all the practitioners to increase employee job satisfaction by developing flexible and unique work from home practices. Accordingly, work from home could be used as a strong motivational strategy in the ICT industry as well as in other contexts.

This study is aimed at finding out the effect of competence and environmental management system on the employee performance at Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta and the effect of job satisfaction in mediating the effect of competence and management system on the employee performance at Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta. This research is a survey research conducted at Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta. The population is the study is all employees of Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta totaling 104 employees. The sample in this study is the same as population. The sampling technique used is census where all members of the population are used as a sample. The results showed that the competence and the environmental management system have a significant effect on employee performance at Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta and the job satisfaction can improve the effect of competence and performance management system on employee performance at Regional Company Taman Satwa Taru Jurug Surakarta.
