Abstract AA 2036 was the first modern commercially acceptable aluminum autobody sheet alloy. It has been widely used in outer panel applications. It has moderate strength and formability and good strength after forming when no benefit can be expected from subsequent primer/paint bake thermal cycles. It is not susceptible to Luders or stretcher-strain lines. See also Alcoa 2036 Alloy, Alloy Digest Al-267, May 1986. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: Al-300. Producer or source: Various aluminum companies.
