Abstract CARPENTER STAINLESS 18-18 PLUS is an 18 chromium-18 manganese austenitic stainless steel which provides twice the yield strength of AISI Type 304 stainless steel and corrosion resistance similar to AISI Type 316 in some media. It has excellent ductility and toughness and good high-temperature strength. Although Carpenter 18-18 Plus contains no nickel, it is nonmagnetic both in the annealed condition and after severe cold forming. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-344. Abstract TECH-TRONIC 32 stainless steel is essentially a low-nickel chromium-manganese austenitic iron-base alloy. In the annealed condition it provides about twice the yield strength of AISI Type 304 stainless steel and almost the same resistance to corrosion. It also offers improved wear and galling resistance over standard stainless steels. TECH-TRONIC 32 can be cold worked to high strength levels with retention of good ductility. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-348. Producer or source: Techalloy Company Inc..

Abstract EASTERN STAINLESS TYPE 304L is the basic 18-8 chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel with a very low carbon content (0.03% max.). Its general resistance to corrosion is similar to AISI Type 304 but, because of its low carbon content, it has superior resistance to the formation of harmful carbides that indirectly contribute to intergranular corrosion. It is recommended for most articles of welded construction. Postweld annealing is not necessary. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-427. Producer or source: Eastern Stainless Steel Company.

Abstract Allegheny Ludlum Type 334 is an austenitic stainless steel with alloying elements of aluminum and titanium. These additions, along with its higher chromium and nickel levels, give the alloy excellent strength and oxidation resistance, especially when compared to Type 304 stainless steel. Applications include sheathing for electric heating elements. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-833. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
