Abstract VASCO TUF is an air-hardening die steel ideally suited for cold-work applications requiring good toughness. It has better wear resistance than the shock-resisting tool steels. It achieves a maximum hardness of Rockwell C 58-60 when multiple tempered at 950 F: this means that it can also be used for warm-working applications without losing hardness. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-274. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.

Abstract AL TECH APACHE is an air-hardening, cold-work die steel that exhibits less distortion during heat treatment than water or oil-hardening steels and most high-alloy, air-hardening die steels. Its low-distortion characteristic makes it particulary attractive for applications where close size tolerance is important, such as master hubs, trim dies, molds for plastics, bending tools, notching dies and coining dies. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: TS-472. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

Abstract AL TECH CHEROKEE is a high-carbon, high-chromium die steel containing nominally 3.25% cobalt. The cobalt provides effective resistance to galling and pickup as well as improved hot hardness. The cobalt enables this steel to perform exceptionally well on both extended cold-work and moderate hot-work applications. Another feature of this versatile die steel is its outstanding secondary hardness associated with remarkable tempering resistance up to 900 F. Typical applications comprise blanking dies, swaging dies, hot and cold-piercing punches, forming rolls, shear blades and coining dies. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-465. Producer or source: AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation.

Abstract N1-SPAN-C alloy 902 is an age-hardenable, nickel-iron-chromium alloy. Its outstanding characteristic is a controllable thermoelastic coefficient. Proper combination of cold work and thermal treatment can produce an essentially constant modulus of elasticity from -50 F to +150 F. The alloy is especially suitable for many types of precision equipment where elastic members are subject to temperature fluctuations. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: Fe-32.
