Abstract CARPENTER BARTO is a cold-melt, grain-controlled, electric-furnace chromium-nickel tool steel. It was developed for applications requiring extreme toughness. Barto's extreme toughness is developed at the expense of some wear resistance; however, it will harden to Rockwell C 55/56. Typical applications are clutch parts and expander punches. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-444. Producer or source: Carpenter.

Abstract CARPENTER S7 is a general-purpose air-hardening tool steel characterized by high resistance to impact and shock. It has good resistance to softening at moderately high temperatures. This combination of properties makes it suitable for many hot-work and cold-work applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on heat treating, machining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-329. Producer or source: Carpenter.

Abstract Micro-Melt A11-LVC is a high-vanadium tool steel produced by the Carpenter Micro-Melt powder process. It provides higher toughness than Carpenter Micro-Melt A11 (Alloy Digest TS-571, January 2000) with lower wear resistance. It is used where slightly less wear resistance than that of Micro-Melt A11 is acceptable. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and wear resistance as well as heat treating and machining. Filing Code: TS-573. Producer or source: Carpenter.
