A framework for building EDM collaborative manufacturing system using multi-agent technology to support organizations characterized by physically distributed, enterprise-wide, heterogeneous intelligent manufacturing system over Internet is proposed. According to the characteristics of agile EDM collaborative manufacturing system(AEDMCMS), the agent technology is combined with Petri net in order to analyze the model. Based on the basic Petri Net, the definition is extended and the Agent-oriented Petri net (APN) is proposed. AEDMCM is turned into the model of Petri Net which is suitable to the analysis and optimization of manufacturing processes.

This paper first briefly introduces the Petri net, and then studied in detail according to the selected object-oriented Petri net modeling method. This paper improve the object-oriented Petri net modeling method, and study the modeling and operation steps in details. Finally this paper build a computer network TCP/IP protocol model based on the object oriented Petri net. The model prove to be a good simulation to the computer network and the improved modeling method is also a valid method for further object oriented Petri net modeling.

In order to simplify the workflow and make efficient use of resources in workflow management, a hierarchical concurrent model based on fuzzy-timing Petri net is proposed. To analyze complicated structure with layered approach, this model turns a complex concurrent network structure into order structure, which simplifies the entire workflow. Proof of the feasibility and correctness of the model is given and verified by an example. In the example, minimum processors are used to deal with corresponding activities, without changing the duration of the case, therefore system resources are efficiently used.
