Purpose The purpose of this article is to explore how racism, privilege, power, and positionality negatively impact clinical research conducted in the discipline of communication sciences and disorders. Conclusions Evidence suggests solutions will not emerge from a minor revision or adjustment of current research approaches. Instead, to make deep and necessary changes, a complete restructuring of the research process is needed. This restructuring calls for a reconceptualization of how research questions and hypotheses are formed, how methods are selected, how data are analyzed and interpreted, and who is at the table throughout this process of knowledge generation. Such an overhaul of current research approaches will offer the field a solution-oriented roadmap for scientific investigation that facilitates greater equity in the research enterprise that translates into improved clinical outcomes for all clients served.

‘Elkton’ is a white-flesh potato variety suitable for chipping directly from the field (Figures 1 and 2). ‘Elkton’ was selected from the USDA-ARS breeding program in Beltsville, Maryland, by Dr. Haynes in 1997. In 2003, seed of ‘Elkton’ was made available for field evaluation under Florida growing conditions. In 60 trials conducted between 2003 and 2018, ‘Elkton’ yielded 112% in comparison with ‘Atlantic’ (Table 1). In these trials, ‘Elkton’ demonstrated resistance to internal heat necrosis and hollow heart, which are common tuber physiological disorders under high temperature growing conditions.https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/hs1237 This is a minor revision. UN Security Council Resolution 242 endorsed the ““inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war”” and called for ““withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied”” in the June 1967 war. Since then, a debate has raged over whether these provisions call for a complete Israeli withdrawal, a minor revision of borders, or license for Israel to retain sovereignty over some of the conquered lands. This article argues that the resolution must be read through the lens of international law. A principled legal interpretation clarifies 242's ambiguities on withdrawal and re-establishes the importance of universal rights to a just and durable peace in the Middle East.
