The prison recovery programs involving vocational training program is expected to change the attitude of prisoners towards a more positive and encourage them to become entrepreneurs. Therefore, this study suggests zakat capital support by Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) to prisoners through vocational training programs in prisons and also to ex-convicts who wish to become an entrepreneurs after getting out of prison. Hence this study will examine to what extent this has changed the attitude of the prisoner after undergoing training in prisons and allow them to receive zakah contribution and continuous monitoring to be a good entrepreneur after coming out of prison. The study focused on inmates in two types of vocational workshops namely (1) Bengkel Amanah (skilled inmates) and (2) Bengkel Perusahaan (training inmates) in prison. The data was based on 68 respondents which represent the total number of 152 participants in vocational section from Penjara Wanita Kajang including the views from a prison officer  from Vocational and Industrial Section. Data were analysed using factor analysis to establish the construct and analysis of variance. The study found a significant positive changes in attitude within the prisoners, and majority of respondents from Bengkel Amanah is keen to start their own businesses with the help of zakat capital support, and expects continuous guidance from the LZS. This study is expected to be helpful to the LZS in diversifying the forms of distribution of Zakat and indirectly expect the blessing of charity towards the process of educating the soul of this group become more useful, trustworthy, responsible and able to survive while adapting to society. Some implications are discussed in this study. Keywords: Al-Riqab, Changes of prisoners’s attitude, zakah contribution Abstrak Program pemulihan di penjara yang melibatkan program vokasional dijangka dapat mengubah sikap banduan ke arah yang lebih positif dan menarik minat mereka untuk menjadi usahawan. Oleh itu, kajian ini mencadangkan bantuan modal zakat oleh Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) kepada banduan melalui program latihan vokasional di penjara dan juga kepada bekas banduan yang berminat menjadi usahawan setelah keluar daripada penjara. Justeru kajian ini akan mengkaji sejauh manakah banduan ini telah berubah sikap setelah menjalani latihan di penjara dan memungkinkan mereka mendapat bantuan modal zakat dan pemantauan secara berterusan untuk menjadi usahawan yang baik setelah dibebaskan. Kajian memfokuskan kepada banduan dalam dua jenis bengkel vokasional iaitu (1) bengkel amanah (banduan mahir) dan (2) bengkel perusahaan (banduan pelatih) di penjara. Data kajian berdasarkan responden seramai 68 responden yang mewakili 152 orang jumlah keseluruhan peserta bengkel vokasional dari Penjara Wanita Kajang Selangor termasuklah pandangan daripada seorang pegawai penjara di Seksyen Vokasional dan Industri. Data dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan analisis faktor untuk membentuk beberapa konstruk serta analisis varian. Hasil kajian mendapati wujud perubahan sikap yang positif di dalam diri tahanan dan kajian juga mendapati majoriti responden daripada bengkel Amanah amat berminat untuk membuka perniagaan sendiri dengan bantuan modal zakat dan mengharapkan bimbingan berterusan daripada pihak LZS. Kajian ini dilihat amat bermanfaat kepada LZS di dalam mempelbagaikan bentuk pengagihan dana zakat dan secara tidak langsung mengharapkan keberkatan zakat terhadap proses mendidik jiwa golongan ini menjadi insan yang lebih berguna, amanah dan bertanggungjawab serta dapat meneruskan kehidupan disamping menyesuaikan diri dengan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mengetahui kepuasan peserta pelatihan, mengetahui pemahaman peserta pelatihan, mengetahui implementasi program pelatihan, menganalisis dampak program pelatihan, mengetahui manfaat program pelatihan, dan merekomendasikan perbaikan program. Dengan menerapkan empat model evaluasi pelatihan Kirkpatrick yaitu: tingkat kepuasan, tingkat pemahaman, tingkat implementasi, dan tingkat dampak untuk mengetahui hasil dari ketiga pelatihan vokasi, yaitu: pelatihan menjahit, hantaran, dan tata risa pengantin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta puas mengikuti pelatihan, peserta paham atas materi yang diberikan, peserta mampu mengimplementasikan program di tempat kerja, program pelatihan berdampak baik bagi peserta dan lembaga, manfaat yang didapatkan: peserta mampu membuka lapangan pekerjaan serta mampu bekerja di perusahaan, dan rekomendasi perbaikan program: memberikan asuransi kecelakaan kerja serta memberikan materi kewirausahaan.Kata Kunci: evaluasi program, pelatihan vokasi, dan model evaluasi Kirkpatrick.  Evaluation of Vocational Training Program in Learning Activity Atelier in Ujung Pandang, Makassar MunicipalityAbstractThis study aims to: determine the satisfaction of trainees, determine the understanding of the trainees, to find out the implementation of the training programs, to analyze the impact of the training programs, to understand the benefits of the training programs and to recommend the improvement programs. By applying the four evaluation model by Kirkpatrick, that are : The Satisfaction level, the level of understanding, the level of implementation, and the impact level of the training in order to determine the outcome of the three vocational training,  that are : Sewing, Delivery, and Bridal make up training. The result showed that all the participants satisfied with the training, the participants understand the material provided, the participants be able to implement the program in the workplace, the training program give benefit for both the participants and institutions, the benefits obtained are; the participants were able to create jobs and be able to work in the company, and the recommendation programs for improvements are; provides the insurance for occupational accident and also material of entrepreneurship.Keywords: evaluation program, vocational training, Kirkpatrick evaluation model

AbstractThe Mini-ICF-APP is an established instrument in social medicine, especially in the context of work ability assessment. In this study, the 13 capacity dimensions of Mini-ICF-APP were tested for its inter-rater reliability in the context of a vocational training program for persons with chronic and mental health problems in Switzerland. Also, the development of capacity impairments was investigated over the course of the long-term vocational training programs.61 training reports on chronically ill persons with mental health impairments were collected within a vocational training program in 2018–2019. Capacity impairment of the trainees were assessed at the beginning of the intervention (t0), after three months (t1) and after 6 to 9 months (t2) by a job attendant and a consultant at each of the three time points. Inter-rater reliabilities for each time point have been calculated. Development of capacity impairment over the course of the vocational training were investigated by variance analysis with repeated measurements.The inter-rater reliability increased in all 13 Mini-ICF-APP capacity dimensions over the course from t0 to t2. Spearman correlation in each capacity dimension reached sufficient values (r = 0.55*–0.97**). There was no statistically significant change of capacity impairment over the course of the vocational training. Ten capacity dimensions showed a decreasing tendency, three showed a tendency to improve capacity levels.Through repeated application and training programs the capacity raters seem to be able to improve reliability of their assessments. The phenomenon of slight increase of capacity impairments over the time may be due to the fact that context and rater’s knowledge on participants and context demands changed over the time.

Successful integration of newly arriving refugees requires the engagement of the receiving community and active facilitation of integration through provision of employment, access to housing, and protection of basic rights. Understanding how local entities effectively facilitate integration is important for policymakers and scholars interested in identifying best practices and replicating outcomes. This study examines the integration outcomes of refugees who participated in a vocational hospitality training program in Chicago, Illinois between 2008 and 2012. In particular, we explore the integration experiences—using employment, housing, and homeownership—of Bhutanese origin refugees who represented the largest country of origin group in the hospitality course. We find that the Bhutanese refugees who participated in the course had high rates of homeownership, stable employment, higher wages and experienced socioeconomic upward mobility—positive indicators of integration. In our analysis, we identify three reasons the program is successful in facilitating integration: a practice of selective enrollment, active employer engagement, and informed industry selection. Importantly, our findings suggest a positive benefit for employers in addition to refugee employees.

This study targeted investigating the efficacy of a vocational skill- based training program for people with intellectual disabilities. The program was set forth by the Department of Welfare and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disability, Ministry of Social Affairs (2009) at UAE. Subjects were 10 male individuals, age 15-20, with intellectual challenges who receive vocational training in Dubai Rehabilitation Center, UAE and who had an IQ score of 55-69 on Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (The Emirati Version). A control group was also recruited for the purpose of comparison (n=10). The Vocational Skill Scale as introduced by the investigators and was conducted before then after 8 weeks of the initiation of the training program in the academic year 2012/2013. Results showed significant differences between the scores obtained by the experimental group pre and post training, whereas there were no significant differences in the control group. The investigators recommended generalizing the vocational training program across centers of intellectual disability rehabilitation and expanding the program to include personal and social skill in addition to implementing the kills in a real work setting.
