Although online education is not a recently emerged concept, the popularity of the concept has been boosted with the pandemic COVID-19, where the students have to depend totally on online education and they have been framed in it forcefully irrespective of the fact whether online education suits all type of education, especially for the sectors where the practicality is given the priority such as in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. Therefore, there arises a need to investigate the understanding level of the students. The objectives of this research are to identify the students’ understanding level of online teaching and to evaluate the relationship between the understanding level of students and online teaching methods. The population of the study was all the students in the TVET sector in Sri Lanka and the sample was 294 students from 6 university colleges. Structured questionnaires were distributed among the sample for data collection. Descriptive analysis and correlation analysis were employed in the data analysis. The results discovered that a majority of students understand the online theoretical lecture delivery but they lack infrastructure facilities to engage in the academic activities. There is a low level of understanding of practical lessons. Moreover, the results visualize a moderate positive relationship between the students’ understanding level and online teaching methods. The researchers suggested that online teaching can be used for theory lectures in critical situations such as disasters but for the practical sessions, the student should physically be present to the field. Efficient strategies relevant to each type of professional qualification provided by the institutes should be implemented.

Purpose: The present study assessed the shift to remote teaching of veterinary anatomy during the COVID‐19 pandemic based on students’ perspectives. Methods: Participants were invited to answer an anonymous online Google Form questionnaire using the snowball sampling method. Only students who studied anatomy online during the COVID-19 lockdown period were eligible to answer the questionnaire. A mixed-method research design was used to evaluate students’ perspectives. Results: A total of 961 participants were enrolled in this study from 87 countries and six continents. Data showed that the majority of students (81.6%) were interested in studying anatomy online during the COVID-19 lockdown. Moreover, approximately 82% of students were comfortable with the technological skills, and approximately 61% of students can understand online anatomy well during the lockdown. Furthermore, approximately 52.76% of students believed that online learning of anatomy suited for theoretical, 8.74% believed that it suited for practical parts, and 30.28% believed that it suited for both theoretical and practical parts. On the contrary, about 36.63% of students thought that online learning of anatomy could replace face-to-face teaching. In conclusion, shifting to remote teaching appears to be a good and convenient approach during the lockdown period as shown by students’ interest to study anatomy online during the COVID-19 lockdown, their comfortability with the technological skills, and their level of understanding. However, practical classes with cadaver dissection and dealing with different anatomical specimens is essential for veterinary students; therefore, blended learning is recommended. Conclusion: The study highlighted several challenges associated with studying anatomy online during the lockdown period and recommendation to overcome these challenges.

The level of understanding of health instructions by patients remains low, that is, most patients have difficulty understanding the indications of their health professional to continue to treat their health after leaving the consultation. The professional oversees the challenge of validating the understanding of the message by the patient. The aim of this study was to demonstrate how verbal and non-verbal communication integrated into an interdependent and aggregated model of specific communication skills—assertiveness, language clarity, and positivity—allow the health professional to be further strengthened and trained to obtain a better understanding of the patient health instructions. The mixed method with a qualitative and quantitative approach was used in a non-probabilistic study with a convenience sample of 484 health professionals, based on a questionnaire survey, 14 focus groups, and 7 in-depth interviews. The results obtained validated the communication model for health literacy, which the author calls the ACP model – assertiveness, clarity, and positivity.

Background: The existence of literature among the younger generation is increasingly difficult to detect. Meanwhile, literature plays an important role in character education as well as the existence of bahasa Indonesia as the national language. One form of literature whose popularity is declining is poetry. Using poems as song lyrics is a new way to deliver poetry. Aim: This study aims to determine the essence of poetries application as Indonesian pop song lyrics on the spread of literature. Methods: The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with an open questionnaire data collection method and interview. The population is Faculty of Humanities (FIB) of Universitas Airlangga students from the cohort of 2019-2021. The sample was taken using a random sampling technique with the number 40 respondents for the questionnaire and 14 participants for the interview. For the questionnaire, the respondents were asked to interpret three lyric snippets of popular pop songs in Indonesia. The purpose of the questionnaire was to measure the respondent's level of understanding of the song lyrics so that conclusions could be drawn. The data analysis method was done using the classification technique, which was grouping the answers from the questionnaire into four categories, namely: 1). completely understand, 2). somewhat understand, 3). do not quite understand, and 4). do not understand at all. Results: The results show that the use of poetry as song lyrics has an effect on increasing respondents' literary understanding. Recommendation: Younger generation should utilize songs as media for dissemination as well as learning literature, especially poetry. Limitation: However, further in-depth research is needed due to the limitations of this study. The respondents and participants involved are still restricted to FIB students from Universitas Airlangga, hence the resulting data does not represent the young generation from all over Indonesia.
