Abstract ARMCO ULTRA-THERM 1600, an aluminum-coated alloy steel, was developed specifically for high-temperature applications. It is a low-cost alternative to stainless steels for high-temperature automotive service where it offers performance comparable to AISI Type 409. This datasheet provides information on composition, hardness, and tensile properties as well as creep, deformation, and fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SA-415. Producer or source: Armco Inc., Eastern Steel Division.
