Transmigration of mandibular canine is an unusual phenomenon characterized by movement of the impacted canine crossing the mandibular midline. Mandibular canine are rarely found impacted in a horizontal position in the mandible. Most of the time, this entity occurred as an isolated finding. However there are reports showing association of dentigerous cyst and a hyperdontia. The purpose of this report is to present a case of transmigrated canine associated with agenesis of mandibular both central incisors which is not reported previously. Key words: Intra-osseous migration; mandibular canine; agenesis; central incisors. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/bjms.v10i2.7810 Bangladesh Journal of Medical Science Vol.10 No.2 Apr’11 pp.133-136

Root canal treatment in mandibular canine with two canals in one root. The aim is to highlight the anatomical variation in the mandibular canine. This case report is presented to illustrate the anatomical variation in the human mandibular canine. Endodontic treatment may sometimes fail because morphological features of the tooth adversely affect the treatment procedures. Many investigators have reported the anatomical variations associated with the mandibular canines. This paper describes a mandibular canine with one root and two canals. KEY WORDS: Canine, canals, anatomy, two canals, endodontics.

Observation: This case reports an unusual morphology and localisation of ameloblastoma that imitates a dentigerous cyst on an inclused mandibular canine. Comments: Ameloblastoma is a local odontogenic benign tumour which often relapse. It is usually described in its polycystic form in the posterior mandibular part.

Dentigerous cysts are developmental odontogenic jaw cysts. Dentigerous cysts require early detection and prompt treatment ranging from marsupialization to complete enucleation. Few of these cysts have been reported in children younger than 12 years of age. The purpose of this case report was to describe the case of an 11-year-old boy with a dentigerous cyst associated with unerupted right mandibular canine. The clinical, radiographic and histopathologic features are discussed. This case report also describes the diagnosis of a mandibular dentigerous cyst using cone beam computed tomography, successful use of conservative enucleation and explains the need for such a radical treatment approach.

Dentigerous cysts are cysts of the epithelial lining of the jaws derived from the dental follicle of unerupted teeth. These cysts are often found during routine radiographic examination along with unerupted teeth. Dentigerous cysts are usually asymptomatic unless the size becomes large, thus causing swelling. This case report describes the management of dentigerous cyst in the upper left canine region with canine impaction to the orbital floor. Dentigerous cyst was treated with cyst enucleation but the impacted canine was not taken because of the magnitude of risk that can occur which was a disruption to the eye muscle. Conclusion. Treatment of dentigerous cysts can be performed by enucleation technique and management related the impacted tooth at the orbital floor needs a further evaluation consideration.

Ectodermal dysplasia is a heterogeneous group of inherited disorder affecting two or more ectodermally derived tissues such as skin, hair, nails, eccrine glands and teeth. The disorder is of two types: Hypohydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/Christ seimens –Touraine syndrome and Hydrotic ectodermal dysplasia/clousten syndrome. Commonly associated signs include hypohidrosis, anomalous dentition, onychodysplasia, hypotrichosis. Multidisciplinary approaches are required for optimal treatment3. Here, we present two cases of 19 and 13 year old male siblings who were diagnosed with the disorder based upon their clinical features. Key Words: ectodermal dysplasia, hypodontia; anomalous dentition.
