Abstract Floods are one of the natural disasters that always occur in various regions in the Republic of Indonesia. Several flood points were recorded in Banjarasri Village and Kedungbanteng Village, Tanggulangin District, Sidoarjo Regency. There is an allegation that one of the factors causing the flooding in the two villages was caused by land subsidence. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study to monitor the magnitude of land subsidence in the area. In this study, the Global Positioning System (GPS) observation method was used. The research was carried out by collecting data from six points which were carried out over three periods of time, namely on 22 - 27 October 2020, 24 - 29 November 2020, and 24 - 29 March 2021. Based on the results of processing and analyzing GPS data, the observed values for shift and motion vectors are obtained. There were five points of land subsidence statistically, which included BM02, BM03, BM04, BM05, and BM06 with values of respectively 3.6 cm, 7.3 cm, 5.9 cm, 4.8 cm, and 5.2 cm. The horizontal position vector moves in various ways, where BM01 and BM04 move to the southwest as far as 2.5 cm and 1.9 cm, BM05 moves to the southeast with a shift of 3.3 cm, and BM06 moves to the northeast with a shift of 4.2 cmFloods are one of the natural disasters that always occur in various regions in the Republic of Indonesia. ABSTRACT. Pyranometers are normally used in a horizontal position to measure the global solar irradiance from the sun and sky. Because of the use of the pyranometers at sloping angles for determining the efficiency of the solar energy conversion installations, the effect of the tilled positions have to be quantified. Central Radiation Laboratory at Pune has made its own device and made measurements of the outputs of different pyranometers at different sloping angles. The results are discussed in the paper.

Abstract Dual-phase noble-gas time projection chambers (TPCs) have improved the sensitivities for dark matter direct search in past decades. The capability of TPCs to reconstruct 3-D vertexes of keV scale recoilings is one of the most advantageous features. In this work, we develop two horizontal position reconstruction algorithms for the PandaX-II dark matter search experiment using the dual-phase liquid xenon TPC. Both algorithms are optimized by the 83mKr calibration events and use photon distribution of ionization signals among photomultiplier tubes to infer the positions. According to the events coming from the gate electrode, the uncertainties in the horizontal positions are 3.4 mm (3.9 mm) in the analytical (simulation-based) algorithm for an ionization signal with several thousand photon electrons in the center of the TPC.

Rip-sawing following the curvature of a crooked log means advantages for yield. However, the possibility to saw in a narrow curve with a circular saw blade is limited because of the inherently flat geometry of circular saw blades. For a double arbour circular saw the situation is even more problematic because the two blades have a certain overlap and thus, the two arbours are not positioned in the same horizontal position. In this study, a theoretical geometrical study of the creation of a kerf with a single circular saw blade and with a double arbour circular saw with two saw blades was examined. Results for stiff saw blades show that the kerfs become in general curved and inclined (tilted) in the vertical direction and also that the width of the kerfs for double arbour saws becomes wider at the top and bottom of the cant than in the middle. Additionally, the sawn boards obtain varying thickness along their width because of the varying kerf width. A comparison with experimental thickness data from four test sawings at a sawmill indicates that the theoretical results are valid and that curve sawn boards become thinner than straight sawn boards.

Purpose. To prevent intraoperative complications during fixation of the IOL-intracapsular ring-capsule bag complex during femto-assisted phacoemulsification of cataract complicated by congenital lens ectopia (Marfan syndrome) using intraoperative OCT. Material and methods. 3 men (6 eyes), with a diagnosis of cataract complicated by congenital ectopia of the lens (Marfan syndrome). The age of patients ranged from 19 to 25 years. Cataract phacoemulsification (CFE) with femto support and hydrophobic IOL implantation was performed by all patients. Fixation of complex "IOL-intracapsular ring-capsule bag" in sulcus ciliaris was performed with the control of intraoperative OCT. Results. BCVA was 0.6-0.8 at the first day after the operation. According to ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM), the IOL was in the capsule bag in a horizontal position in all cases. Any damage of the iris and ciliary body was not found. After 6 months, according to UBM, a stable horizontal position of the IOL and the consistency of suture fixation of the «intracapsular ring-capsule bag-IOL» complex was recorded in all patients. Conclusion. The use of intraoperative OCT allows to accurately determine the individual anatomical location of the sulcus ciliaris and provide visual control of the IOL suturing and the «intracapsular ring-capsule bag» complex in congenital lens tectopia, avoiding excessive trauma of the surrounding eye tissues, and also to ensure a stable horizontal position of the IOL in the postoperative period. Key words: intraoperative optical coherence tomography, femtoassisted cataract phacoemulsification, congenital lens ectopia.

To modify easily chemical consistence of molten steel metallurgical plants usually add alloys in a form of lumps through a hopper at ladle`s top. The problem is a large variety of adjusted technological conditions for this process, which leads to iterative discovery of rational ones. The article presents synthesis of a mathematical model for the mentioned process using Navier-Stokes and Euler-Lagrange equations. It is designed for researching of process modes depending on: a horizontal position of addition hopper relatively to argon plug at ladle bottom, an average diameter of spherical addition lumps, a total mass of addition heap, a necessity of the second hopper, a temperature of the melt. It takes into account interconnected three-dimensional fluid and solids dynamics, temperature exchange between melt and lump, also it computes level of concentration homogenization. A numerical experiment shows a significantly better addition homogenization when two hoppers are simultaneously used for a feeding. Adequacy checks are performed using ice balls in air-stirred water.

Application of Archimedes Screw Turbine (AST) on pico-hydro has been very popular due to its capability to has a high torque with small flow rate and environmentally friendly to biotic of vicinity. This study uses CFD to investigate AST performance when the number of blades is varied. Independency of mesh is conducted to find an efficient number of mesh and it is obtained at 80 thousand mesh. Variation A, B and C respectively has 4,6, and 9 blades varied to analyze the correspondence with torque, pressure loss and velocity contour. The results show that with a higher number of blades would make higher torque. This is because energy extraction from water would be more efficient at higher number blade. However, the side back at such number would arise such as the higher-pressure loss. This is corresponding to energy balance where a high delta pressure is proportional with a generated energy turbine.
