Gracilaria tenuistipitata var. liui Zhang et Xia 1988 from sand-flat at Nuniachara, Cox’s Bazar, Ulva linza Lin. from west coast of Naf R. at Noapara, Teknaf and Fishary Ghat in River Bakkhali, at Cox’s Bazar, and Caulerpa fergusonii Murray from St. Martin’s Island (SMI), have been newly recorded and illustrated from Bangladesh. C. chemnitzschi (Esper) Weber-van Bosse var. irregulare Aziz & Alfasane var. nov. and C. sertularioides (S.G. Gmelin) M. Howe var. robusta Aziz & Alfasane var. nov. from SMI, Cox’s Bazar District, Bangladesh are new to science. Total number of marine algal taxa so far recorded from Bangladesh coasts is now 210. This paper reports seven species of opisthobranchs from the intertidal zone of the south Saurashtra coastline off the Arabian Sea, Kathiawar Peninsula, west coast of India. Field surveys were undertaken along the intertidal zones of south Saurashtra coast during 2012–2014. In this study, seven species belonging to six families were recorded, of whichHaminoea ovalis, Flabellina bicolor, Phidiana militaris, Baeolidia palythoaeandSakuraeolis gujaraticaare new records from this coastline.

Seagrasses in the Air Bangis Archipelago, west coast of Sumatra were found growing in sandy muddy substratesof the shallow coastal waters at depth of 0.3-2.5 m, dominated by degraded coral reefs around the off-shoreislands. Two species; Enhalus acoroides (L.f) Royle and Thalassia hemprichii (Ehrenb) Aschers were observed atPulau Unggas, Pulau Pasir Panjang and Teluk Tapang. Halodule uninervis (Forssk) Aschers was observed in twolocations; Pasir Panjang and Teluk Tapang. The occurrence of this species is unknown previously and therefore itis a new flora record for Sumatra. With this new record, Sumatra has six species of seagrasses, contributing tohalf of total number of seagrasses occurring in Indonesia. According to leaf width measurements, two morphologicalvariants (narrow and wide leaved) can be distinguished for Halodule uninervis. In addition, descriptions of thespecies and their habitat characteristic are provided.

This study presents three species from each of Schroederia, Monoraphidium and Ankistrodesmus, two species and one variety of Dictyosphaerium, two varieties of Pediastrum, and Tetraedron arthrodesmiforme var. contorta, Chlorotetraedron polymorphum, Myrmecia aquatica, Oocystis tainoensis, Nephrocytium spirale, Kirchneriella irregularis, Coelastrum indicum and Scenedesmus similagineus. These taxa have been reported from some ponds of Mathbaria of Pirojpur and Bakerganj of Barisal Districts in Bangladesh. A total of 97 phytoplanktonic algal taxa belonging to 17 genera under two classes (Euglenophyceae and Bacillariophyceae) have been recorded from a pond receiving effluents from two textile industries at Demra, Dhaka district. Ten taxa belonging to Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae and Euglenophyceae, and one with an uncertain taxonomic position have been described in this paper. A total of 108 algal taxa belonging to 57 genera and nine classes (excluding Chlorophyceae), namely, Cyanophyceae 28, Euglenophyceae 37, Chloromonadophyceae 1, Charophyceae 3, Xanthophyceae 11, Chrysophyceae 4, Bacillariophyceae 20, Dinophyceae 2 and Rhodophyceae 2 have been recorded from some acidic habitats within the tea gardens at Srimangal, Maulvi Bazar. Six nephtyid species were identified from samples collected off the west coast of Saudi Arabia. Two of these species had been previously reported for the Red Sea (Inermonephtys aff. inermis, Nephtys palatii), three are new records (Aglaophamus lobatus, A. cf. verrilli, Micronephthys stammeri) and one is new to science (Inermonephtys aramco). Inermonephtys aramco was collected in the southern region of the Red Sea at depths between 60 and 83 m. It is characterized by the presence of branchiae from chaetiger 15 or 16, well-developed parapodial prechaetal lamellae, broadly rounded notopodial postchaetal lamellae and rudimentary neuropodial postchaetal lamellae. The species Nephtys palatii is transferred to the genus Micronephthys. Based on the current finding, the previously known bathymetric range of Micronephthys stammeri is extended from 4–7 to 17 m, and occurrence depths for N. palatii are given for the first time (4–90 m). Full descriptions are included for all species except M. stammeri. An identification key for all the species known to occur in the Red Sea is provided.

SynopsisFrom a faunistic survey in Scottish waters, concentrated mainly in the sea lochs of the north-west coast and in the deep water in the North Sea off the east coast, thirty-two species of polychætes are listed which have not previously been recorded from these areas. Seven of the species are new records for British coastal waters or for the North Sea.
