Introducing abstract concepts to students from applied fields can be challenging. Electromagnetics is one of those courses where abstract concepts are introduced. This work presents a conceptual model which defines learning objectives in three levels for Engineering Electromagnetics. Each level is aligned with its own assessment and evaluation methods. The advantage is that the three-level learning objectives can be extended as student self-assess and instructor assessment rubrics, and a detailed implementation is presented here. This model gives students more accessibility to the learning objectives and increases the transparency of the learning and grading processes. The main goal of this conceptual model is to make students learn with the end in mind.

Teachers as determinants of the success of the learning process in schools/madrasahs have a very important role. In its activities the teacher must carry out several efforts so that the planned learning objectives are achieved. Various plans and preparations made in the learning process must be evaluated programmatically and continuously. One of the evaluation methods is the supervision of learning carried out by the principal/madrasah. With the supervision of learning, it is possible to know the problems that arise as well as find ways to solve the problems that exist in learning. Learning supervision is carried out as well as the implementation of learning leadership carried out by the principal/madrasah. From the results of the performance assessment of the head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Nurul Huda Bogor City, it was found that the supervision of teachers and education staff obtained a score of 42 out of a maximum score of 44 or 95.45%. The performance indicators of the head of madrasa in carrying out supervision are met with complete data support. Thus efforts to make changes in learning towards improvement will be realized. Game design is a complex process based on balance between educational and gameplay experience in a coherent way. In the context of instructional design, Constructive Alignment aims to develop an outcome-based approach for designing learning activities during which the learners’ engagement through the activity is aligned with learning objectives and outcomes. Constructive Alignment focuses on the proposal of constructively aligned learning experiences, where assessment is the result of specially selected training activities, which are proposed based on intended learning outcomes. In this study, we analyze the game design process in an online master course on Game Design from a Constructive Alignment approach. We operationalize the Constructive Alignment in game design as the coherence between Learning Objectives, Game Mechanics, Learning Mechanics and the Assessment in the educational DGBL. The results analysis shows that the Game Based Learning course had a positive impact on students regarding the proposal of game design documents with coherence between Game Mechanics and Learning Mechanics as well as Learning Mechanics and Learning Objectives, while little focus on integrating Assessment mechanisms was observed. Based on the results of this study we propose to increase the focus on assessment in the process of game design.

Abstract Background: Clinical competency is the ability of nurses in playing a professional role in a clinical environment specially emergency department as the quality of the services provided. The present study aimed to compare the clinical competence of the emergency nurses using self-assessment and evaluation methods by head nurses. Method: The study was designed in a descriptive-analytical way, collecting self-assessment questionnaire and evaluation methods by head nurse’s data. 70 nurses working in Emergency Departments of 3 Hospitals were selected and studied for 3 months based on entry requirements to the census. The instrument was a clinical competency questionnaire with questions in 7 functional fields and 63 skills. The data obtained from descriptive and inferential statistics were analyzed by SPSS-16. Result: The viewpoints of nurses and head nurses on the clinical competencies of nurses were assessed at a moderate level in the majority of domains. Nurses defined their clinical competencies at a significantly higher level compared to the head nurses (P<0.05). conclusion : The periodic assessment of emergency nurses as a critical part and the turning point of the hospital can guide the managers and nursing managers to pay attention to professional competence and promote continuing education programs for improving their competencies in this section.
