The present study was designed to examine the significance of emotional intelligence (EI), perceived organizational support (POS), and its impact on organizational ambidexterity of faculty members working with standalone business schools in southern India. The study argues that the moderating effect of emotional intelligence (EI) is significant in the association between perceived organizational support and two antecedents of organizational ambidexterity of faculty members. The research on institutional exploration and exploitation ambidexterity variants highlights vital ways to realize organizational ambidexterity. Very few researchers have investigated organizational ambidexterity in the higher education sector, and no research is available on standalone business school faculty members. The study proposes a novel research framework, and the findings reveal that perceived organizational support is highly influencing two antecedents of organizational ambidexterity. The research also observes a slight moderating effect of emotional intelligence between the association of perceived organizational support and organizational ambidexterity and the positive relationship identified among emotional intelligence, perceived organizational support and organizational ambidexterity.

This paper has as main purposes the examination of the moderating role of the perceived organizational support in the relation of job satisfaction with job commitment for all participants, respectively, for the group consists of intens and volunteers. Sample has 157 participants aged between 20 and 68 (M=30.52, SD=10.14), both men (28%) and women (72%). The moderating effect is statistically significant on the relationship mentioned above only for the group of interns and volunteers, but not at a global or vocational level. Also, a significant positive relationship is observed between satisfaction and commitment. In addition, there is a stronger link between job satisfaction and continued type for non-vocational jobs than vocational ones.

Administrators and faculty are grappling with the relative importance of teaching and research by professors in higher education. While various opinions exist, both faculty and administrators will likely agree that research will remain prominent in the near future. Faculty frustration can result from inadequate support for research. A national survey of business school faculty examines support adequacy by type of school. Of the ten categories of research support studied, six are receiving less than adequate support. Administrators who allocate their limited research budgets based on the findings of this study will likely remove many of the obstacles their faculty members face in meeting the research objectives of their institutions.

PurposeNavigating the physical and emotional conditions of patients on daily basis can be emotionally exhaustive, requiring health professional to regulate their emotions in order to provide quality healthcare. The present study set out to examine the consequential effect of emotional intelligence and perceived organizational support (POS) on emotional exhaustion of nurses and midwives in the Ghanaian context. The study also examined the effects of age and cadres of nursing and midwifery on emotional exhaustion.Design/methodology/approachThe study was quantitative in nature and employed the cross-sectional design in sampling respondents. The study was conducted in four public hospitals and two quasi-public hospitals in three main districts in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. A sample of 342 nurses and midwives were proportionately sampled from various health facilities. The sample constituted of staff nurses and midwives.FindingsThe study revealed that while age, cadres of nursing and midwifery and POS had consequential effects on emotional exhaustion, emotional intelligence failed to predict emotional exhaustion.Originality/valueFindings of the study draw the attention to the importance of organizational support in attenuating the emotional exhaustion associated with the nursing profession.
