Objective - Telecommunication companies need their people to engage in their activities to achieve organizational goals. So, employee engagement became a crucial aspect of a company that struggles to win the competition. Some literature shows that human resource practice affects employee engagement. The present study examines the impact of perceived organizational support as a mediator on the relationship. Methodology/Technique - Data were collected from a branch office of the biggest telecommunication company in Bandung during May 2019. The questionnaires were distributed through the human resources department for four weeks. We analyze 112 valid responses by using SPSS and Macro Process. Findings - By conducting regression with bootstrapping we found that perceived organizational support mediates the relationship between effective human resources practice and employee engagement. The result suggests that a telecommunication company should practice good human resources practice including proper recruitment, training & development, reward, career advancement, and employee relation so that the employees can perceive its support and increase their engagement. Novelty – This finding provides the implication that good management of human resources practice and perceived organizational support can increase employee engagement. Objective – Employees’ perception of HR practice is crucial because it can affect individual and organizational outcomes. HR practices may influence the perception employees have of the support that is available to them from the organization, the work-life balance, and the organization’s commitment to their employees. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of perceived HR practices on affective commitment. This study also explores the role of perceived organizational support in mediating work-life balance. Methodology/Technique – This survey was conducted between February – May 2019 using 178 employees ranked as officer (with no managerial position) from various organizations. The mediation analysis using SPSS and Macro Process was used to identify the relationship between the variables. Findings – The results indicate that employee perception of effective HR practice influences employee affective commitment. Further, perceived organizational support and work-life balance can mediate the relationship between those variables. However, the mediation only works if the mediator stands as a separate variable. When both mediators are put together, they do not mediate the relationship. Novelty – Studies concerning human resource (HR) practice and employee work behaviour remains scarce in Indonesia. The practical benefit from this study is to contribute to the knowledge of organizations concerning the implementation of effective HR practice in order to build a sense of supportive and balance in both work and private life. Additionally, both mediators may contribute to the development of affective commitment. Type of Paper: Empirical. Among the various influencing factors of organizational performance, HRM system strength and perceived organizational support are two important factors which focus on employee perception. In modern business management, human resource management runs through the whole process of business management. Effective HR system can influence employee perception, understanding and acceptance of HRM practices, which in turn influence employee’s attributions to organizational behaviours and thereby influence employee attitudes and behaviours. Besides, organizational commitment to employees can promote employee’s positive attributions and feedback through job satisfaction and hard work. So far, there has been a plethora of researches on variables related to HRM system strength and perceived organizational support. However, there is a lack of the research on the relationship between the two variables. Therefore, this paper studied the impact of HRM system strength on perceived organizational support, based on a survey of 508 front-line employees in China. Research findings showed that there is a significant positive relationship between overall HRM system strength and perceived organizational support, between three dimensions of HRM system strength and two dimensions of perceived organizational support. This result can help researchers understand the relationship chain between HRM system strength, perceived organizational support and organizational performance.

Human resource is critically important aspect of organizations. The functions and roles of human resource have developed from administrative matter into supporting the organization to run the managerial and strategic processes. Expertise, knowledge, and experience of existing human resources in organizations should be suitable and allocated at the right time and place. By properly manage the human resources, organization would be able to obtain qualified human resources that have high commitment to organization. High commitment to organizations will lead to a higher effort in supporting organizational success. In order to gain employees’ commitment to the organizations, management should put some efforts that ensure all aspects of employees’ commitment are fulfilled. This paper is intended to find the significant influence of perceived organizational support (POS) on the dimensions of employee’s commitment, comprising of the affective commitment, continuance commitment, and normative commitment, and to find which one of those dimensions are dominantly influence by POS. This paper employed 50 respondents that were sampled using convenient random sampling. Result showed that there were significant influences of POS on employee’s commitment either in affective commitment. POS can influence the employees’ organizational commitment in all dimensions. This implies that in order to improve organizational commitment, management should provide appropriate managerial supports and ensure that the supports are in line with employee’s aspirations and needs.

In the current challenging and competitive environment, the perceived support from the organization has a large impact on employee perception, attitude, work behavior, and employee return to the organization. The present study investigates whether perceived organizational support (POS) contribute to the level of employee engagement (EE) for middle level IT professionals in Indian context. Four hundred twenty samples (i.e., IT professionals working at middle level) were collected from different IT industry located in India by using online survey questionnaires. The data collected was further analyzed using regression analysis, factor analysis, reliability and validity analysis, SEM (structural equation modeling), and model fit indices analysis. Results of all analyses revealed a positive and strong relationship between POS and EE. Furthermore, a fit model was explored between POS and EE with their factors. This study would assist practitioners of human resources and organizational development in improving the positive attitude and commitment towards the work of employees.

AbstractThis study examines the impact of employability on turnover intention by differentiating internal and external employability, and considering the possible moderating roles of perceived organizational support (POS) and career orientation. Using a sample of 411 responses to a two-wave questionnaire survey generated from six cities in China, we find that external employability positively influenced turnover intention, but internal employability negatively influenced turnover intention. The results also indicate that POS had a positive moderating effect only on the relationship between external employability and turnover intention. Furthermore, for employees with disengaged career orientation, external employability exerts a strong impact on turnover intention. This study adds to the limited research empirically linking employability and turnover intention, whereas the findings can be used by HRM practitioners to factor in organizational support and career orientation initiatives that improve the retention of employees with high external employability.

Concepts of strategic management and human resource management has long been of interest of researchers and various studies have been done on the relationship between these concepts. In general, researchers believe that the strategic management of the organization leaves a significant role in human resource management. In this regard, the present study is an attempt to examine this relationship in the form of a conceptual model includes 12 hypotheses that have been tested and evaluated in the informatics services company with a population of 740 people. In this study, the concept of strategic management in the form of three basic dimensions: 1) strategic planning, 2) execution of strategy, and 3) assessment strategy has been defined. Human resource management also consists of four main dimensions: 1) attraction and retain the human resources, 2) perceived organizational support, 3) normative and affective commitment, and 4) Optional behavior.  The results showed that between strategic management and human resource management are positively and significantly correlated. As the results showed three independent variables of the study were able to predict more than half of dependent variable changes of human resource management, among which the variable of evaluation of strategy had the greatest role.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement. Although employee engagement has got a great attention among the industry practitioners in recent times, it requires more considerations particularly in the academic literature. Based on the norms of social exchange theory (SET), this study has developed the framework to examine the role of perceived organizational support (POS) on HRM practices-employee engagement linkage. Survey data has been collected from employees who are working in different private commercial banks in Bangladesh. This study has used a sample of 376 employees using cluster sampling technique. To analyze the data, this study has employed SmartPLS 3.0 version software. The results of structural equation modeling revealed that HRM practices namely career advancement, job security and performance were significantly and positively related to employee engagement. The results also showed that POS can moderate the relationship between HRM practices and employee engagement. It suggests that in the presence of POS, relatively low level of employees’ perceptions regarding job related resources will exert a high level of employees’ behavioral outcomes such as engagement. The implications and suggestions for future research have also been discussed.

This study aims to identify the impact of digital transformation in achieving strategic sovereignty in a world that is intensely competitive and in a digitalized era. In the study, the human resource management variable serves as an intermediary variable in the relationship between digital transformation and strategic leadership. The study population consists of (420 top and middle) managers in two mobile telecommunications companies in Palestine, namely: Jawwal and Ooredoo. The study is based on the quantitative approach using a proportional stratified sample, as a 201- item questionnaire is developed using the Seven-Point Likert Scale to study the three variables. The independent variable is digital transformation and its dimensions (Business Model, Customer Experience, Digital Processes, and Impact on People), while the dependent variable is Strategic Supremacy including its three dimensions (Scope of Influence, Competitive Configuration, and Competitive Compression), while digital human resources management serves as an intermediate variable. The data contained herein is analyzed by the Smart PLS Program - structural equation modelling (Second Order). The study shows a positive and good impact of digital transformation on strategic supremacy. The same applies to the impact of digital human resources management thereon. The study concludes that even though digital transformation has a very good impact on human resource management, digital human resources management is a mediating variable in the relationship between digital transformation and strategic supremacy, or even a partial mediator.
