Slicing is an essential building block of 5G networks and beyond. Different slices mean sets of traffic demands with different requirements, which need to be served over separated or shared network resources. Various service chaining methods applied to support slicing lead to different network load patterns, impacting the QoS experienced by the traffic. In this paper, we analyze QoS properties applying a theoretical model. We also suggest appropriate parameter setting policies in slice-aware service function chaining (SFC) algorithms to increase QoS. We evaluate several metrics in different analysis scenarios to show the advantages of the slice-aware approach.

Cloud computing consists of three fundamental service models: infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a service and software-as-a-service. The technology “cloud computing” comprises four deployment models: public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud and community cloud. This chapter describes the six cloud service and deployment models, the association each of these services and models have with physical/virtual networks. Cloud service models are designed to power storage platforms, infrastructure solutions, provisioning and virtualization. Cloud computing services are developed to support shared network resources, provisioned between physical and virtual networks. These solutions are offered to organizations and consumers as utilities, to support dynamic, static, network and database provisioning processes. Vendors offer these resources to support day-to-day resource provisioning amid physical and virtual machines.

In this paper, a modified wavelet neural network (WNN) (or wavenet)-based predictor is introduced to predict link status (congestion with load indication) of each link in the computer network. On the contrary of previous wavenet-based predictors, the proposed modified wavenet-based link state predictor (MWBLSP) generates two indicating outputs for congestion and load status of each link based on the premeasured power burden (square values) of utilization on each link in the previous time intervals. Fortunately, WNNs possess all learning and generalization capabilities of traditional neural networks. In addition, the ability of such WNNs are efficiently enhanced by the local characteristics of wavelet functions to deal with sudden changes and burst network load. The use of power burden utilization at the predictor input supports some non-linear distributions of the predicted values in a more efficient manner. The proposed MWBLSP predictor can be used in the context of active congestion control and link load balancing techniques to improve the performance of all links in the network with best utilization of network resources.

In a large collection of web pages, it is difficult for search engines to keep their online repository updated. Major search engines have hundreds of web crawlers that crawl the WWW day and night and send the downloaded web pages via a network to be stored in the search engine’s database. These results in over utilization of network resources like bandwidth, CPU cycles and so on. This paper proposes an architecture that tries to reduce the utilization of shared network resources with the help of an advanced XML based approach. This focused crawling based architecture is trained to download only the high quality data from the internet leaving behind the web pages which are not relevant to the desired domain. Here, a detailed layout of the proposed system is described which is capable of reducing the load on network and reducing the problem arise in residency of mobile agent at the remote server.

In this work we propose a method for organizing multipath routing for SDN networks. It have two main parts. The fisrt one is a routing method based on modified wave algorithm for finding paths, and second one is load balancing method based on ECMP algorithm. Combination of these methods can optimize using of network resources and provide a more optimal load balancing of network. The basis of routing algorithm is the search and use partially-overlapping routes. The basis of load balancing algorithm is equal distribution network load between all found routes. A comparative analysis with an existing algorithms for routing and load balancing was conducted and the advantages of this development are presented.
