The knowledge of Anthomyzidae (Diptera: Acalyptratae) in the East Palaearctic area is extended by new taxonomic, biological and distributional information. Two new species of the genus Anthomyza Fallén, 1810, viz. A. aspina sp. nov. (Russia: Far East) and A. breviclavus sp. nov. (North Korea), and a species tentatively affi liated with the genus Zealantha Roháček, 2007, viz. Z. fasciolata sp. nov. (Japan) are described. Although all are based only on females, they are distinctive species unmistakably recognized by external characters and structures of the female postabdomen. Relationships of all new species are discussed. Records of 24 species are presented; 3 species are recorded from the E. Palaearctic, 1 species from continental Asia, 3 species from North Korea and a number of species from particular parts of E. Palaearctic Russia for the fi rst time. An updated checklist of East Palaearctic Anthomyzidae is presented, now comprising 13 genera and 44 species. Taxonomic notes for Anthomyza clara Roháček, 2006, Fungomyza cercata Roháček, 2009 and some other species, and new biological information for Anthomyza trifurca Sueyoshi & Roháček, 2003 are given. Longitudinal dark patterning of the wing found in A. breviclavus sp. nov., represents the fi fth lineage of Anthomyzidae in which this type of pattern has evolved independently. Species richness of Anthomyzidae in the E. Palaearctic is discussed with an estimate of about 60 species occurring in the area.

Two new species of the genus Heteroisotoma Stach are described from Northeast China, North Korea, and Far East of Russia. They are typical members of the genus although sharing spines on the dens with the genus Semicerura Maynard. In all members of Heteroisotoma, three additional processes on the labial palp are discovered and proposed as a new diagnostic generic character. The genus Heteroisotoma is rediagnosed and a key and records of known species are given. A contribution is made to the knowledge of labial palp.

Two new species of Parameletus are described, increasing the number of species known from Far East of Russia to four: P. chelifer Bengtsson 1908, P. minor (Bengtsson 1909), and the new species P. ensiformis and P. arcuatus. Both new species are known from male imagines. P. minor is first recorded for the Southern Far East. Illustrations and a key for the male imagines of the known species of Parameletus from Russian Far East are provided. Distributional data are presented.

Two new species of Bohayella Belokobylskij, 1987 from Costa Rica are described: Bohayella geraldinae Kang, sp. nov. and Bohayella hansoni Kang, sp. nov. These are new distribution records for the genus in the Neotropical region. In addition, a key to species of the genus Bohayella of Costa Rica is presented. The current work elevates the number of species included in Bohayella from nine to eleven.

The nasocorine plant bug genus Campylomma Reuter from Japan and neighboring regions is reviewed. Twelve species are currently recognized. Several species, which have pale basic coloration, are rediagnosed, with emphasis on the male and female genitalia as significant taxonomic characters. Two new species, C. fukagawai and C. tanakakiana, are described and figured, and C. marjorae Schuh is reported from Japan for the first time and diagnosed. The females of three taxonomically confused species, C. eurycephala Yasunaga, C. livida Reuter and C. lividicornis Reuter, are documented in detail and figured for the first time. Female specimens of the most frequently encountered congeners, C. lividicornis Reuter and C. livida Reuter, can now be unequivocally identified. Confidently associated final-instar immatures are figured for C. aterrima Yasunaga and C. livida Reuter. Confirmed host plant associations are reported for most treated species. Campylomma chinensis [= chinense] Schuh is proposed as a junior synonym of C. livida Reuter, and C. chichijima Carvalho is regarded as nomen dubium. A checklist and a key to species are provided, which are applicable to the faunas of Japan, and of Korea, NE China the Russian Far East and Taiwan as well.

Two new species of Romulea are described from Northern Cape, raising the number of species in southern Africa to 76. R. collina J.C.Manning Goldblatl is endemic to the Hantamsberg near Calvinia. It is distinguished in subgenus Spatalanthus by its clumped habit, yellow flowers with dark markings in the throat, and short papery bracts. A re-examination of rela­tionships within the subgenus suggests that section Cruciatae is not monophyletic and it is accordingly no longer recog­nized as separate from section  Spatalanthus. R. eburnea J.C.Manning Goldblatt is a distinctive species of subgenus Spatalanthus from the Komsberg near Sutherland. It is distinguished by its golden yellow flowers with the apical third of the tepals coloured pale creamy apricot, bracts with broad, translucent margins and tips, and an unusually long perianth tube, 10-13 mm long.

The caddisfly genus Stactobiella Martynov (Hydroptilidae) is revised for Japan, with revisions of two Far East Asian species, one newly recorded for Japan, and the description of three new species. Both S. tshistjakovi (Arefina & Morse, in Arefina et al. 2002) and S. biramosa Martynov 1929 are redescribed, based on male and female specimens. The three new Japanese species are S. aichi sp. nov., S. amami sp. nov., and S. kumejima sp. nov., bringing to five the number of species of Stactobiella known for Japan.

Two new species of the genus Hydraena Kugelann, 1794 collected from hygropetric habitats in eastern Cuba are described: Hydraena (Hydraenopsis) blancae sp. nov. from the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain range, and Hydraena (Hydraenopsis) matthiasi sp. nov. from the Sierra Maestra mountain range. Both species, especially the latter, are closely related to Hydraena (Hydraenopsis) franklyni Deler-Hernández & Delgado, 2012. Diagnostic characters for both new species are provided and illustrated; habitat information and distributional data are also included. An updated key to Cuban species of Hydraena is provided. With this study, the number of species of Hydraena known from Cuba raises to six.
