The accelerated UV visible photocatalytic carbon-carbon double bond isomerization of Linear Alpha Olefins (LAO) with 12-Tungstophosphate Acids (12-TPA) as an efficient, environmentally-friendly and recyclable catalyst was described, which produced the corresponding Linear Internal Olefins (LIO) in general high selectivity and high yields.

Intramolecular addition of a C(sp3)–H bond of a dimethylamino group across a C–C triple bond in 2-alkynyl-N,N-dimethylanilines was effectively catalyzed by a new iridium complex IrCl(DTBM-SEGPHOS)(C2H4) in mesitylene at 150 °C. The intramolecular C(sp3)–H addition was followed by double bond isomerization to afford 3-substituted indoles in good to high yields.

Enones in which the carbon–carbon double bond is part of the pharmacologically important 2H-chromene (2H-1-benzopyran) nucleus undergo asymmetric copper-catalyzed 1,2-addition of Grignard reagents. High yields and enantiomeric excesses up to 84% are obtained and access to these novel enantio-enriched tertiary alcohols is provided.

Pentacarbonyl(η2-tetracyanoethylene) metal(0) complexes of chromium, molybdenum and tungsten have been synthesized by the photochemical reaction of hexacarbonyl metal(o) with tetra- cyanoethylene in toluene at room temperature. The complexes were purified by chromatography and recrystallization, and characterized by UV- visible, IR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. Tetra- cyanoethylene is symmetrically bonded to the M(CO)5 unit through its carbon-carbon double bond as an η2-ligand. The spectral data are discussed in terms of the metal → ligand π interaction.
