This study aims to identify the relationship between the grade 12 senior high school students’ conception of learning biology and their self-regulated learning strategies and the impact of these variables on the academic performance of the students. Two sets of questionnaires - the Conception of Learning Biology questionnaire and the Self-Regulated Learning Strategies questionnaire - were administered to students in the different public secondary schools in Cebu City whose schools offered Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand in the Senior High School curriculum. This research used exploratory factor analysis to analyze the data. The results reveal that there is a significant positive relationship among all the variables in the conception of learning biology and all factors in self-regulated strategies of senior high school students. The data further reveal that there is a significant positive relationship between the students’ academic performance and one of the factors of selfregulated learning strategies. The results of the study have implications on the teaching of biology particularly on understanding student’s conception of learning and their self-regulated learning strategies in order to achieve better academic outcomes. It is recommended for teachers to make necessary interventions in order to encourage students to develop advanced order conceptions of learning and higher order self-regulated learning strategies that would help them attain high academic performance.

AbstractThis research aimed at knowing positive relationship between family functioning with self-regulated learning of Pangudi Luhur Van Lith Muntilan Senior High School students. This research was conducted on 80 students by using random sampling technique. The method used in this research is quantitative method. Measuring instrument used for family functioning is The McMaster Model of Family Functioning with alpha cronbach’s coefficient is 0,927 and self-regulated scale with alpha cronbach’s coefficient is 0,899. From the data analysis obtained the result of coefficient correlation is 0,366 with the significance amount 0,000 (p < 0,05), so it can be concluded that there is a positive correlation between family functioning and self-regulated learning of Pangudi Luhur Van Lith Muntilan Senior High School students, so the hypothesis pruposed in this study is accepted.

The K to 12 Basic Education program uses standards and a competency-based grading system. These are found in the curriculum guides. All grades will be based on the weighted raw score of the learners’ summative assessments. Senior High School Students have been graded on three categories the written work, performance tasks, and quarterly assessments. Technology plays a substantial role in helping teachers in the progress, communication, application, and grading of assessment tasks. Thus, this study aims to produce a feasible computerized grading system that will address these issues and problems encountered by the teachers in recording and monitoring grades. The developed K12 Senior High School Students Academic Performance Monitoring System for Private Institutions with Decision Support System was compliant with ISO 25010 quality standards as assessed by SHS Principal, SHS Faculty/ Teachers, and IT Experts. The developed system followed the policy and guidelines set by the department of education in the grading system. The decision support system of the developed system helped the senior high school principal and teachers in monitoring the grades and performance of the students in every subject. Monitoring the performance of the students academically and non-academically, and classifying the students who have at risk in their academic performance.
