The purpose of this study was to determine school and teacher-related factors affecting low academic performance of senior high school students in integrated science in some selected districts in western region of Ghana. The research design used in this study is descriptive cross-sectional survey. The population of the study was made up of students and science teachers in selected senior high schools in the study area which comprises three districts; Ellembele District, Jomoro District and Nzema-East Municipal. A Sample of 342 students and 18 teachers were used for this study. In carrying out the study, a questionnaire was used as the main instrument for the data collected which were analyzed using descriptive statistics. From the results, it was seen that school-related factors causing poor performance in Integrated Science among students include; the inadequacy of facilities, poor state of existing facilities, general disturbances in class and the ineffective supervision of teaching. Moreover, inadequate number of science teachers, inability to complete syllabi, poor teaching style and little time spent in teaching were among the teacher-related factors which caused low academic performance in Science.

This study sought to determine the Senior High School English teachers’ teaching practices in terms of punctuality, attendance and its relationship to students’ academic performance. Specifically, it determined the Senior High School English Teachers’ level of punctuality and attendance; the Senior High School Students’ level of academic performance in English; and the significant relationships of the teachers’ level of punctuality and attendance and their Senior High students’ level of performance in English. The study used the descriptive-correlational survey method. The respondents of the study were the twenty four (24) teachers of the twelve (12) senior high schools of Maguindanao, Philippines. There were two (2) Senior High English teachers that were chosen randomly from each senior high schools of Maguindanao. It has a total of twenty-four (24) Senior High English Teachers. In every teacher, there are 10 senior high school students chosen randomly with a total of two hundred forty (240) senior high school students. The immediate supervisors of the teachers from the twelve (12) secondary schools answered the research problem number 1, while the final grades in English of the two hundred forty (240) senior high students were taken from their English teachers to answer the research problem number 2. The respondents of this study were chosen randomly using lottery. Pearson’s Product - Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to determine the significant relationship of the level of punctuality and attendance of the English teachers to the students’ level of academic performance. Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that the Senior High School English Teachers’ level of teaching practices is influenced by their punctuality and attendance. It further concluded that teachers’ punctuality and attendance contributed to students’ level of academic performance in English.   Keywords: Senior High School English Teachers, Punctuality, Attendance, Students’ Academic Performance

The K to 12 Basic Education program uses standards and a competency-based grading system. These are found in the curriculum guides. All grades will be based on the weighted raw score of the learners’ summative assessments. Senior High School Students have been graded on three categories the written work, performance tasks, and quarterly assessments. Technology plays a substantial role in helping teachers in the progress, communication, application, and grading of assessment tasks. Thus, this study aims to produce a feasible computerized grading system that will address these issues and problems encountered by the teachers in recording and monitoring grades. The developed K12 Senior High School Students Academic Performance Monitoring System for Private Institutions with Decision Support System was compliant with ISO 25010 quality standards as assessed by SHS Principal, SHS Faculty/ Teachers, and IT Experts. The developed system followed the policy and guidelines set by the department of education in the grading system. The decision support system of the developed system helped the senior high school principal and teachers in monitoring the grades and performance of the students in every subject. Monitoring the performance of the students academically and non-academically, and classifying the students who have at risk in their academic performance.

Background: A good The Internet gives excellent benefits for education. Uncontrolled internet use causes internet addiction may cause a poor outcome, such as academic failure. Family functions hypothetically correlate with internet addiction and academic performance in adolescents at school. The research aims to see the correlations among family function with internet addiction and academic performance in adolescents at senior high school. Method: Participants consisted of 305 adolescents from public senior high school students aged 14-18 years old. This research is using an analytical, cross-sectional method. The family function was assessed by the Family Assessment Device-Indonesian version (FAD-Ina). Internet addiction was assessed with Internet addiction Test Indonesian version (IAT-Ina). The student’s academic performance was obtained from the school report card at that time. Results: The result of this research shows that 76.4% of senior high school students have an internet addiction. The family function had a positive correlation and significant result with internet addiction (R=0.336, p <0.05). The family function had a negative correlation and significant result with academic performance (R=0.176, p <0.05). Internet addiction had a positive correlation and significant result with academic performance (R=0.128, p <0.05). Good family function in adolescents has four times decrease for internet addiction risk compared with bad family function (OR=4.290). Conclusion: This research shows that there was a 76.4% prevalence of internet addiction in adolescents at senior high school. A good family function can decrease internet addiction and increase academic performance in the adolescent. Good family function decreased internet addiction risk four times.

The purpose of the study was to investigate how feedbacks from teachers affect the academic achievement of New Edubiase Senior High School students in the Adansi South District of Ghana. The descriptive survey design was employed for this study. The researcher used questionnaire as the main instruments for data collection. The target population for the study was all the teachers and students of New Edubiase Senior High School. In all, 60 teachers and 60 students were used for the study. Simple random and purposive sampling strategy was employed to select respondents for the study. Percentages were used for the analysis of the response and presented in tables and charts. Findings showed that students of New Edubiase Senior High School are aware of the importance of teachers’ feedback, both formal and informal type of formative assessment is used in assessing students of New Edubiase Senior High School by their teachers but the type of formative assessment that is mostly used in assessing students is formal. The study also found out that feedback help students to know the benefit of learning, encourages students to be more active and participate in class activities, help students to internalize and process the demands of task given to them by their teachers, increases self-esteem of students, guides students in on their performance, feedback deepen the understanding of students on their performance and also clarify what students should do. The study concluded that feedback can be used as an effective teaching tool by teachers in improving students’ academic achievement. Based on the findings, it was recommended that teachers of New Edubiase Senior High School should use formative feedback effectively as an effective tool on student learning and achievement and must also see the importance of assessment and clearly show how feedback can have a positive impact on student learning. Knowledge in Pre-Calculus depends on students' understanding of Algebra and Trigonometry. The result of the Program for International Students Assessment (PISA) in 2018 disclosed that the Philippines ranked the second-lowest in Mathematics assessment and indicated low performance in advanced subjects such as Calculus. Hence, the paper described the level of academic performance of senior high school students in a maritime school in Bacolod City during the school year 2019-2020. Likewise, it aimed to determine the relationship between the students' demographics and the level of academic performance in Pre-Calculus. Furthermore, it is intended to test the correlation and predictive capability of the school of origin and entrance examination scores in the academic performance of students in Pre-Calculus.

In this study, the learning experience and its cognitive factors of Mathematics among senior high school students of Visayas State University were investigated using a correlational research approach.  A complete enumeration of 222 grade 11 and 12 senior high students in the second semester of school year 2018-2019 were used as the participants of the survey. Using a developed structured questionnaire, a primary data was employed. Results showed that the mathematics attitude of students influence their learning experience and academic performance. Mathematics anxiety has a negative effect on the students learning experience especially for females. However, mathematical resilience locates itself in a positive psychology which addresses mental wellness and makes the students positively perceived that mathematics is interesting even if it is challenging.  Also, results revealed that senior high school students are mostly visual learners in mathematics, which implies that students practice visualizing or pictures numbers/equations and other concepts in their mind. Furthermore, it can be gleaned that an academic performance is not just derived from study habits but to their motivation and interest in mathematics
