This paper introduces the development of a tool for modeling and analysis of BTF toolholder-spindle system, based on ANSYS software. The tool is developed in parametric design method. Most parameters are defined automatically except a few parameters requiring users to input, which improves the modeling efficiency greatly. The interface joint of the BTF toolholder-spindle is established by adopting spring-damping model and defined by custom element unit Matrix27. The proposed model reflects the characters of the joint on the properties of BTF toolholder-spindle effectively. A case study is given to verify the efficiency and accuracy of the developed tool.

Abstract: Automotive, Aerospace, Pipeline industries widely use Bellows. Different types of bellows are used in these industries. The bellows are used for contraction or expansion applications. Repeated variable pressure loading and displacement on Metallic bellows joints results in bellows failure. This paper is a comprehensive modeling and analysis of an axial type exhaust metallic bellow due to varying pressure load and circumferential and radial displacement. All analysis completed using ANSYS software considering variable pressure load and cylindrical displacement as a boundary condition and perused the consequences. Stress distribution in the conditions of Case (i) variable pressure load and Case (ii) displacement are obtained. Keywords: ANSYS, FE Bellows, Finite Element Analysis, Bellow Failures

A new 2-DOF microgripper, which can perform the processing of the objects assembly and biological cells injection, is designed and modeled in this paper. The clamping action of the microgripper with the x direction is completed, however, when anything is clamped by the end effector, which can be completely driven by an actuator generated in y direction, at lastclamping and pushing motion are realized. The flexure hinge, which takes place of the conventional joint, is used as the translational and rotational hinges in the new structure. Otherwise, the whole microgripper is monolithic processing, which can efficiently overcome the disadvantages of the conventional hinge with friction, backlash, anderrors caused by the hinge assembly. Firstly, a kind of novel microgripper is designed in this paper, which can accomplish two-dimensional independent motions including a separate grip and single track push without interfering with each other. The bridge type amplifying structure with two-end output is adopted in the gripper to increase the motion range and the capacity of the microgripper. The piezoelectric actuator with fast response and high resolution is used as the drive element. Secondly, the geometrical and kinematical models are established and the formulas of the amplifying ratio, stiffness, maximum stress, and the natural frequency of this model are calculated, respectively. Finally, the FEM (finite element modeling) based on ANSYS software is built up to validate the formulas.

On the basis of analyzing the structure of precalciner,normalized handling of the precalciner structure,determined parameters of the precalciner model.The fast modeling system of the precalciner is established by using the secondary development tool of SolidWorks software.Using Ansys software,the strength analysis of the precalciner is realized.This system provides a simple and convenient modeling and analysis method for designer.It is helpful to improve the design quality and working efficiency and to shorten the design cycle.

Spur gears are widely used in industry where the power transmission is required at heavy loads with smoother and noiseless operation. The study in this paper shows that the complex design problem of spur gear requires superior software skills for modeling and analysis. The problem been has solved using Pro/E and ANSYS software which provides equivalent results to that of AGMA. In this paper, spur gear was modeled using Pro/Engineer wildfire 4.0 and stress analysis was carried out using ANSYS 11.0. The results obtained from both AGMA and FEM were compared and found to be approximately similar.

The designs of automotive suspension system are aiming to avoid vibration generated by road condition interference to the driver. This final project is about a quarter car modeling with simulation modeling and analysis of Two-Mass modeling. Both existing and new modeling are being compared with additional spring in the sprung mass system. MATLAB program is developed to analyze using a state space model. The program developed here can be used for analyzing models of cars and vehicles with 2DOF. The quarter car modelling is basically a mass spring damping system with the car serving as the mass, the suspension coil as the spring, and the shock absorber as the damper. The existing modeling is well-known model for simulating vehicle suspension performance. The spring performs the role of supporting the static weight of the vehicle while the damper helps in dissipating the vibrational energy and limiting the input from the road that is transmitted to the vehicle. The performance of modified modelling by adding extra spring in the sprung mass system provides more comfort to the driver. Later on this project there will be comparison graphic which the output is resulting on the higher level of damping system efficiency that leads to the riding quality.
