Comprehensively monitoring indoor environmental quality (IEQ) parameters and their dynamic relations is essential to ensure improved productivity and a healthy environment for building occupants. Although IEQ significantly influences working efficiency, studies addressing this aspect with researchers in institutes as the focal point are limited. Thus, this study employed drill-down analyses, such as floor-by-floor and building-by-building examinations and used an occupant IEQ survey approach to evaluate working conditions in research buildings. This study systematically and objectively assessed IEQ using the Korea building occupant survey system. The results indicate that acoustic qualities affect the work productivity and satisfaction of the building occupants. The floor-by-floor analysis is necessary to identify IEQ factors and the reasons for the satisfaction of occupants. Additionally, it is important to improve the user-friendliness of the system, implement frequent survey distribution systems, and empirically analyze data associations among building, spatial, and demographical characteristics.

Tall fescue (Schedonorus arundinaceus (Schreb.) Dumort.) is often managed with a cutting height ranging from 70 to 100 mm in ornamental lawns. Some autonomous mowers have been specifically designed to maintain mowing height in the same range. Generally, autonomous mowers operate by following random trajectories, and substantial overlapping is needed to obtain full coverage of the working area. In the case of tall grass, this may cause lodging of grass plants, which in turn may reduce turf quality. The introduction of a navigation system based on systematic trajectories has the potential to improve the performances of autonomous mowers with respect to machine efficiency and turf quality. With the aim of determining the effects of reduced mowing frequency and systematic navigation systems on turf quality and mower performances in terms of working time, energy consumption and overlapping, the performances of two autonomous mowers working with random and systematic trajectories were tested on a mature tall fescue lawn at 90 mm cutting height. The working efficiency was approximately 80% for the systematic trajectories and approximately 35% for the random trajectories; this was mainly due to the lower overlapping associated with systematic trajectories. Turf quality was slightly higher for the mower working systematically (a score of 8 using a 1–9 score with 1 = poor, 6 = acceptable and 9 = best) compared to the one working randomly (quality of 7 and 6 on a 1–9 scale with 1 = poor and 9 = best). No appreciable lodging was observed in either case. For tall, managed lawns, systematic trajectories may improve autonomous mowers’ overall performances.

Assuming that social health status affects the level of human capital, the priority of every modern state should be to ensure that its citizens are provided with adequate health condi-tions, and thus a sense of health safety. Consequently, state activities aimed at managing safety in the field of health policy should translate into both productivity and working efficiency of society, which in turn should stimulate the economic development of the country. This paper attempts to present selected health safety measures to improve the health of the population with the example of the activities of the EU and public institutions in selected voivodeships imple-menting the principles of sustainable development and long-term investment in society. In this paper, an analysis of documents relating to direct actions with regard to this issue has been used as a research method. The conducted research shows that the cooperation of EU Member States creates a platform for cooperation on combating health inequalities and basic social determinants of health, the aim of which is to improve the health and quality of life of EU citizens, which in turn should translate into accelerating economic development.

Explosion-proof transformers 6/1.2 kV is important electrical equipment responsible forsupplying electricity in underground mine electrical networks. A failure of this transformer will cause aninterruption in the power supply and loss of safety in underground mining. Usually, explosion-prooftransformers in underground mine electrical networks are designed and manufactured to work with idealparameters such as sinusoidal currents, and the network structure is symmetrical. However, today inunderground mine electric networks, many power electronics are connected to the network, such asinverters and soft starters. As a result, a current flowing through the transformer is non-sinusoidal,overloading the transformer even by working with the design specifications. This paper studies theinfluence of harmonics on the working efficiency of a 6/1.2 kV transformer in a pit mine. Research resultssuggest reasonable solutions for transformer operation to ensure longevity and not cause damage to thetransformer.

Global resources are limited and mindless use of them will finally lead to a scarcity. The need of the hour is to find the alternative energy resources which are abundant in nature and which deviate us from using fossils fuels. Solar Energy has gained a significant popularity in the past few decades as it is clean, meaning it does not release greenhouse gases and other harmful pollutants. It is also an abundant source of energy as it is available till the existence of the planet. Unlike fossil fuels, which are finite and cannot be replenished for thousands of years. Another drawback of fossil fuels is that they emit greenhouse gases and contribute to global climate change. Solar energy is an important technology for many reasons and has become a popular topic as many scientists around the world are working to increase the photo-electron conversion efficiency with minimum production cost. Diversified approaches have been undertaken to enhance the efficiency of solar cell. This paper will review the current state of art on photovoltaic cells (PVCs) in context to the materials used for fabrication, their possible cost and their working efficiency. This paper will also undertake the challenges that came across during the whole process and their possible solutions.

Abstract This paper describes mobile robot tactics for recovering a wheeled vehicle that has overturned. If such a vehicle were to tip over backward off its wheels and become unable to recover itself, especially in areas where it would be difficult for humans to enter and work, total working efficiency could decline significantly, not only because the vehicle is no only able to perform its job, but because it becomes an obstacle to other work. Herein, we propose a robot-based recovery method that can be used to recover such overturned vehicles and demonstrates its utility. The recovery robot, which uses a mounted manipulator and hand to recover the overturned vehicle, is also equipped with a camera and a personal computer (PC). The ARToolKit software package installed on the robot-mounted PC detects ARmarkers attached to the overturned vehicle and uses the information they provide to orient itself in order to perform recovery operations. To facilitate these ARToolKit-based operations, it is necessary to conduct a theoretical analysis to clarify the distance between the robot manipulator and vehicle, and thus achieve an objective position for grasping the overturned vehicle. The experimental results obtained in this study demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed system.
