Natural dyes extracted from black rice are used as sensitizer for dye sensitized solar cell. The anthocyanin extracted with various pH in acidic and neutral coditions. Preparation of fotolectrode TiO2 film using doctor blade method and resulting average grain size 33,9 nm using X-Ray Diffractometer. Characterization of morphology and cross-section film TiO2 is confirmed by Scanning Electron microscopy (SEM). Optical absorption using UV-Visible Spectroscopy to obtain spectrum absorbance of anthocyanin in various pH. The current-voltage (J-V) characterization shows the performance DSSC have a match relation to the optical absorption. The best absorption of anthocyanin obtained at pH 6 as well as conversion efficiency reaches 2.26% at this pH condition.

The process of TiCl4 treatment on the FTO substrate of DSSC were analyzed and the microstructures of substrates before and after treatment were observed. Further more, the influence of TiCl4 treatment on the substrate of Dye-sensitized solar cell to photo-current voltage performance was numerical analyzed.

Snake fruit (salacca zalacca) characterization for Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) material was conducted using Fourier transform Infrared (FTIR) and Principle Component Analysis (PCA) method. Dragon fruit and mangos teen were used as validator since they are containing anthocyanin. Data shows that snake fruit and mangos teen are in one cluster. Therefore, snake fruit can be used as DSSC material. DSSC fabrication using sandwich method that contains counter electrode, electrolyte and working electrode. The working electrode was made of thin film of titanium dioxide (TiO2) into indium Tin Oxide (ITO) which then was soaked in dye snake fruit as time function of 6, 12 and 24 hours. Result showed that the longer time of soaking, the current and efficient increased. In twenty four hours soaking, the current, voltage and efficiency were 6 mA, 9.16 V and 0.011 % respectively.

ABSTRACTMismatched or shadowed individual cells in a module can operate in the Reverse Bias (RB) regime. Subjecting a dye solar cell (DSC) to an accelerated RB stress by forcing a constant current equal to 2-fold its ISC, produced significant alterations on the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics in RB with time and a severe loss of cell efficiency in 32h. We investigated and identified a key mechanism for RB charge transfer and degradation in DSCs. I-V characteristics in RB were found to be sensitive to the type of dye utilized and to TiCl4 substrate treatment.
