A new leptodirine leiodid beetle species belonging to the genus Leonhardia Reitter, 1901, L. solakisp. nov., from a pit in Bosnia and Herzegovina (western Balkan Peninsula) is described and diagnosed. Important morphological features of the new species are listed and photographed. The new species is endemic to the Dinarides of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A key for identification of species and subspecies of the genus Leonhardia is also provided.

The short-palped crane fly, Antocha (Antocha) bella Markevičiūtė & Podenas sp. nov., is described from specimens collected in Sichuan, China. Redescriptions of Antocha (Antocha) fortidens Alexander, 1933 and Antocha (Antocha) nebulipennis immaculata Alexander, 1938, illustrations of distinguishing morphological features, general distribution, checklist and key to species of Antocha Osten Sacken from Sichuan, China are provided.

We describe and figure a distinctive new species of the bee genus Andinopanurgus Gonzalez and Engel (Andrenidae, Protandrenini) from Apurímac and Cusco in southern Peru. Andinopanurgus vargasllosai Gonzalez and Alvarado, n. sp., occurs at elevations above 4000 m in the Central Andes and is the second species of this genus in Peru. The new species possesses terga with semi-translucent distal margins, a unique feature among Andinopanurgus, and it combines morphological features of the two species groups previously recognized in the genus. To facilitate its recognition, we provide an updated key to species of Andinopanurgus.

A new leptodirine leiodid beetle species, Parapropus vitorogensis sp. n., from a cave in the western part of the Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is described and diagnosed. Both male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important characters are illustrated. The new species is clearly distinct from its closest congeners. The new taxon is of Tertiary or even pre-Tertiary age and originated during the Alpine Orogeny that affected vast areas of the Balkan Peninsula, including the Dinarides, its terra typica. The new species is both endemic and relict, inhabiting western Bosnia and Herzegovina only.

Four water mite species of the genera Atractides and Sperchon (Acari: Hydrachnidia) are reported from Serbia and Crna Gora, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Sperchon vesnae is described as a new species; first description are given of the female of Atractides longisetus Pesic, 2002; first records from the Balkan peninsula are given of Sperchon longissimus Viets, 1920, and Atractides cf. lunipes Lundblad, 1956. The latter is a rare water mite species previously known only from the French Pyrenees.

The aradid genus Yangiella Hsiao is reviewed. Two species are recognized. The type-species, Y. mimetica Hsiao, is redescribed and the new species, Y. montana Zhang, Bai, Heiss & Cai, is described. A key to species is given and the diagnostic morphological features of the two species are illustrated.

A new leptodirine beetle species, Pholeuonopsis (Pholeuonopsis) perucensis sp. n., from a cave in Eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina is both described and diagnosed. The structure of both male and female genitalia and other taxonomically important characters are imaged. The new beetle species is clearly distinct from all other congeners. It probably belongs to an old phyletic lineage of Tertiary origin, like other known Pholeuonopsis taxa from the Western Balkan Peninsula. The new species is both an endemic and a relict inhabiting solely Eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Reichardia albanica, a new species from Mount Çika (Albanian: Mali i Çikës) in southern Albania, is described and illustrated. Its relationship with the closest taxa is also discussed and a key for the identification of species in Balkan Peninsula and Turkey is provided. In addition R. macrophylla, a neglected and synonymized Balkan endemic species, has been re-evaluated. The name Picridium macrophyllum has been lectotypified.

A new species, Alliumalbanicum, is described and illustrated from Albania (Balkan Peninsula). It grows on serpentines or limestone in open rocky stands with a scattered distribution, mainly in mountain locations. Previously, the populations of this geophyte were attributed to A.meteoricum Heldr. & Hausskn. ex Halácsy, described from a few localities of North and Central Greece. These two species indeed show close relationships, chiefly regarding some features of the spathe valves, inflorescence and floral parts. They also share the same diploid chromosome number 2n =16 and similar karyotype, while seed testa micro-sculptures and leaf anatomy reveal remarkable differences. There are also several morphological features that allow them to be differentiated at specific level. The inclusion of both species into a newly described section Pseudoscorodon of the subgen. Allium is proposed. An analytic key to the species, included in the new section, is also provided.

Abstract—Justicia rubrobracteata, a new species from northeastern Brazil, is described and illustrated. The new species is morphologically similar to J. aequilabris due to its shrubby habit, and terminal and axillary spicate inflorescences with red flowers. However, J. rubrobracteata is differentiated mainly by the shape and color of its bracts and bracteoles as well as an orangish macula in the corolla, and a torulose capsule. In addition, J. rubrobracteata is only known from northeastern Brazil, from the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, while J. aequilabris is widely distributed in Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay. A table with the main morphological characters of both species is included, as well as photographs, a key to species of Justicia for the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte in northeastern Brazil, a distribution map of both species, and conservation data for the new species.

Abstract A new species of micromorphic articulate brachiopod (Rhynchonellida) Lambdarina jugowiensis sp. nov., from the upper Visean (Sokolec Beds) of central Sudetes, SW Poland, is described. The studied specimens are calcified, what makes them unique in respect of their state of preservation. The material is represented by a full range of growth stages; from brephic to gerontic. Based on its morphological features and the palaeogeographical distribution of all its known species, two main evolutionary lines are proposed for the genus; the Australian and the European ones. Lambdarina was widely distributed in the equatorial-tropical waters of marginal seas of the Palaeotethys Ocean, mostly during Mississippian time.
