A new species of clingfish, Dellichthystrnskii sp. n. is described on the basis of 27 specimens, 11.9–46.0 mm SL, collected from intertidal and shallow coastal waters of New Zealand. It is distinguished from its only congener, D.morelandi Briggs, 1955 by characters of the cephalic sensory system and oral jaws, snout shape, and colouration in life. A rediagnosis is provided for D.morelandi, which is shown to exhibit sexual dimorphism in snout shape.

The tribe Diglottini Eichelbaum, 1909 comprises two halophilous rove beetle genera Diglotta Champion, 1899, and Paradiglotta Ashe & Ahn, 2004. The tribe contains eight known species distributed in the Nearctic and West-Palaearctic regions, and also Fiji Islands and New Zealand. This tribe is recorded for the first time from South America with the description of a new species, Diglotta brasiliensis n. sp. from southern Brazil (Paraná). Characters of the mouthparts, aedeagus and spermatheca of the new species are illustrated and compared with other Diglotta species. Sexual dimorphism is reported for the first time in the genus.

A new species of diogenid hermit crab, Diogenes minimus, is described and illustrated on the basis of material from shallow subtidal waters (5–19 m) in central Japan. It appears close to D. holthuisi Asakura & Tachikawa, 2010, but easily distinguished from the latter by the shape of the antennal acicle, non-elongate male left cheliped and the armature of the right cheliped merus. Including the new species, 14 identified species of Diogenes are now known from Japanese waters. A brief overview on species of Diogenes recorded from Japanese waters is given.

Trachelochismus aestuarium, new species, is described on the basis of 120 specimens, 10.1–45.5 mm SL, collected from shallow (0–29 meters depth) bay and estuarine areas along the coast of New Zealand. It is distinguished from congeners (T. melobesia and T. pinnulatus) by a combination of characters, including features of the cephalic sensory system, adhesive disc papillae, and colouration in life, head shape, and gill-raker, fin ray and vertebrae counts. Phylogenetic analyses of mitochondrial loci (cytrochrome c oxidase subunit 1 and 12S ribosomal RNA) and one nuclear locus (zic family member 1) for all three species of Trachelochismus and two outgroup taxa resulted in phylogenetic hypotheses in which T. aestuarium is the sister taxon to either T. pinnulatus (mitochondrial loci) or T. pinnulatus + T. melobesia (ZIC1). A new terminology is introduced for the superficial neuromasts arranged in rows on the surface of the head in members of Trachelochismus.

The marine seagrass-boring isopod, Limnoria rhombipunctata sp. nov. (Limnoriidae) is described from the rhizome of Phyllospadix iwatensis seagrass, in shallow coastal waters off Chiba Prefecture, Japan. L. rhombipunctata sp. nov. is distinguished from other Limnoria species by the unique carinae of pleonite 5 and pleotelson, two branched lacinia mobilis of the right mandible, 3 flagellar articles of antenna 1, and triangular epipod of the maxilliped. Specimens of L. magadanensis, a species similar to L. rhombipunctata sp. nov., are re-examined and compared with L. rhombipunctata sp. nov.

A new species of pearlfish, Echiodon prionodon, is described from three specimens. This species is diagnosed by having a serrated margin on the posterior edge of the fangs, expanded thoracic plates on some abdominal vertebrae and ventral swimbladder tunic ridges. This species was only found in coastal waters around the North Island of New Zealand. The diagnosis of Eurypleuron is revised.

Echinoids of the genus Caenopedina are widely distributed in continental shelf and slope waters of tropical to subAntarctic regions. A new species, Caenopedina porphyrogigas sp. nov. is described from temperate and sub-Antarctic areas of New Zealand and southeastern Australia in depths of 350–1200 m. This species is distinctive for the rich brown colour of its spines, purple apical and oral regions, large size, wide interambulacral plates, lack of obvious sexual dimorphism, and few forms of pedicellariae. The first confirmed records outside of the Hawaiian Islands and neighbouring atolls of another species in the genus, C. pulchella, reveal its existence also in northern New Zealand, and C. otagoensis, previously considered endemic to New Zealand is recorded from additional locations in the region as well as from a seamount west of Tasmania. An updated key to the species of Caenopedina is provided to include the four Australasian species most recently described.

Tritodynamia bengalensis n. sp. is described on the basis of a male specimen dredged from the shallow coastal waters of West Bengal state, India. The new species is morphologically similar to T. bidentata Yang & Tang, 2005 and T. serratipes Anker & Ng, 2014, but can be distinguished by the carapace shape, dentition of the pollex, relative length of the dactylus of the third maxilliped, proportions of the propodus of the third pereopod, and structure of the male left gonopod. This is the first record of the genus Tritodynamia from India.
