The main objective of this paper is to study the situation of LSP operating in the agricultural sector which is a key sector for the Moroccan economy. This study will help contractors to make a correct decision concerning the choice of a performing LSP in the agricultural sector, while providing a multi-criteria decision method (MCDM): fuzzy AHP. Nowadays the expansion in terms of service has become crucial for any implementation of a successful outsourcing strategy and to attract and convince contractors through well adapted services, furthermore, the diversity in terms of the offer made by the LSP and the competitiveness between them made the task of the contractors complicated. This paper intended to provide an exploratory study grouping, on the one hand, the various Moroccan LSP and the level of their service offered in logistics services in the agriculture field, and on the other hand, the different criteria that influence the choice of those LSP. As a result, a proposal of an MCDM is established. The objective is to provide the contractors with a decision-making tool for selecting suitable LSP to collaborate with and evaluating the outsourcing performance.

Due to high competitiveness on supply chains, small economies tend to become very important to overall costs reduction and represent marketing gains. The aim of this study is to analyze if the rationalization in low value deliveries, lower than R$ 2,000.00, will be able to generate a considerable cut of costs. To perform this exploratory study, company historic was analyzed and surveys were performed with several suppliers. The studies showed it is possible to reduce freight average impact in relation to the sold value at 44.03%. This result points to the advantages in coordinating more rationally the process of hiring transportation providers.

As a result of globalization and the growing importance of environmental and social issues, scholars have started to update the scope of logistics management and capture its complexity using different theoretical perspectives. The output of logistics services also encompasses the so-called negative by-products, which have been increased in past decades and stress the need for a standardized, comprehensive and quantitative performance measurement. The reduction of the negative by-production, e.g., decarbonization in the transport industry, is commonly associated with a higher degree of logistics performance using different capabilities. Research aims of the study are twofold: to show the decisive components for sustainability performance of a logistics service provider (LSP) and to outline internal capabilities of LSPs as indicators of its sustainability-oriented firm performance. In the first step, firm performance is sampled using the lenses of sustainability. For this purpose, general and transport-related sustainability frameworks are summarized to identify how they differ in sustainability dimensions in order to help LSPs contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In the second step, decisive and evidence-based capabilities as indicators of sustainability-oriented performance are outlined using mixed methods by reviewing the literature.
