This chapter considers the topic of connections of the genetic code with various fields of culture and with inherited physiological properties which provide existence of these fields. Some examples of such physiological bases for branches of culture are described. These examples are related to linguistics, music, and physiology of color perception. Special attention is paid to connections between the genetic matrices and the system of the Ancient Chinese book “I Ching.” The conception and its arguments are put forward that the famous table of 64 hexagrams of “I Ching” reflects notions of Ancient Chinese about music quint harmony as a universal archetype.

The accumulated historical experience and rich cultural heritage of the pre-axial Chinese civilization are concentrated and reflected in the ancient Chinese language. Therefore, linguistic methods of studying traditional Chinese philosophy and its conceptual apparatus are becoming relevant in modern Sinology. By focusing on the material of ancient Chinese philosophical works, it is possible to reconstruct the conceptual apparatus of traditional Chinese philosophy and culture in general, and some of the classics in particular. Among the sets of fundamental terms, it is worth highlighting the compendiums by Chan Wing-tsit, Joseph Needham, A. I. Kobzev, Wu Yi and A. M. Karapetyants, which formed the basis of this study. The object of the study is the ontological-dynamic concepts, and its purpose is to develop a model of their linguocultural analysis demonstrated on the example of certain terms, first of all, 人 ren, 德 de and 道 dao. The statistical analysis of conceptions of the I Ching tradition, namely “The Appended Commentaries”, helps to construct a monocentric semantic field of ontological terms with a heterogeneous core. This model of linguocultural analysis proves to be universal for many philosophical concepts.

The oppositional pair of heaven – earth (天 ‘tian’ – 地 ‘di’) derived on the basis of the conceptual apparatus of the Xici Zhuan (‘Appended Commentaries’) and in line with the I Ching tradition was studied. A methodology for linguoculturological analysis of the term with account of the linguistic parameters of the oppositional pair (attribution to predicates/names, grammaticalogical commentary, and interpretation within the traditional Chinese philosophy) was introduced. The analysis was performed with the help of a wide range of the ancient Chinese texts. All occurrences of the oppositional pair of heaven – earth in the Xici Zhuan text were analyzed. As a result of the research, the place of the oppositional pair of heaven – earth in the Xici Zhuan and its linguistic parameters were revealed.

In contemporary American society, conflicts between the community and the individual seem to have been intensified. This is believed to be a direct result of the lack of community values, which go beyond individual values. One of the ancient Chinese classics, the I‐Ching or Book of Changes, explains clearly the need for the consideration of community in the determination of the appropriateness of individual actions. This paper addresses those hexagrams in the Book that relate to the issue of community values.
