For generations, humanity has experienced socioeconomic disparities that are yet unresolved. Although education and training have transformed some individuals in society, they have not addressed the broader issues of sustainable employment for many underserved communities. Governments, corporations, policymakers, and numerous stakeholders have continued to address the problem, yielding disappointing results. Growing inequality in society continues to be a major concern. Vertical inequalities between the poor and the rich and horizontal inequalities between various groups of society have remained high for centuries. This chapter focuses on a variety of individual elements that outline the current challenges to humanity in an unequal society that certain communities continue to face, citing an unsustainable environment. Inequality and degradation negatively impact the future of work. Efforts continue to advance the future of work as a progressive, stable, and welcoming environment without the need for underserved communities to be marginalized.

Research and surveys have been conducted to find out data and information on the implementation of education and training (DIKLAT) in order to improve the performance of diverse personnel. Basically the implementation of education and training is intended to increase the mastery of the skills and knowledge of personnel in an effort to improve personnel performance. Measuring the performance of diverse personnel is important in overall management, in order to know each personnel's performance and find the best alternative for all deficiencies, because each personnel hasdifferent abilities and personalities.Performance measurements carried out on an ongoing basis provide feedback which is important in continuous improvement efforts in achieving success in the future.

American officers considering the role of the sea Services in a future war must understand the history and organizational culture of the Chinese military and consider how these factors shape the Chinese approach to naval strategy and operations. The Sino-Japanese War of 1894–95 remains a cautionary tale full of salient lessons for future conflict. A review of recent Chinese publications highlights several consistent themes that underpin Chinese thinking about naval strategy. Chinese authors assess that the future requires that China inculcate an awareness of the maritime domain in its people, that it build institutions that can sustain seapower, and that, at the operational level, it actively seeks to contest and gain sea control far from shore. Careful consideration of the Sino-Japanese War can support two priority focus areas from the Commandant’s Planning Guidance: “warfighting” and “education and training.”

Intelligence as an activity and practice is an extremely complex process. It is this complexity that needs to be understood if intelligence institutions are to hope to diminish the force of discourse failure. The essence of intelligence needs to be acknowledged, and intelligence operatives need proper education and training. Intelligence is a highly demanding profession that is identified by the twelve images that will be described in this chapter. These images also serve as reminders of the challenges of intelligence. Intelligence is method, it is a phenomenon and it is science and knowledge. It constantly deals with uncertainty, and its ultimate objective is to make uncertainty less uncertain through its estimation about the future. It is arguably tempting for many to close cognition, overlook the challenging and displace those factors that do not fit with orthodox beliefs and political assumptions.

Until recently, Augmented Reality (AR) technology has rarely been discussed outside of the computer science world. It has taken years for this technology to become closer to a stable existence, and will most likely take several more years before it will be used by average citizens. However, the technology does exist, it has been applied in several areas, and research is being done to create even more stable systems that are adaptable to various environments. For this reason, it is necessary for decision-makers in establishments where education and training, knowledge distribution, and individual and collaborative task completion are essential to be aware of this technology, its abilities, and the possible impacts to common workspaces and workers. The purpose of this chapter is to inform decision-makers of AR’s history, the completed research and current applications of AR, possible impacts to managers and workers, and the future trends of the technology.

Almost 10 years after the Cl@ssi 2.0 project began in Italy, the contribution intends to take stock of the consequences and the development of the project, broadening the view to the role of informal learning and the new 4.0 technologies, with a look at the effects of the emergence of COVID-19. The last part of the chapter focuses on the role of new enabling technologies in the future model of 4.0 learning which in turn fits into the Society 5.0 framework. These scenarios will offer insights for a concluding reflection on Society 5.0, a society in which the integration of technologies will offer an opportunity to develop all sectors of social life, including the education and training sector.
