The monitoring of power quality is the foundation and prerequisite of its improvement. There are a lot of disadvantages in the conventional method of power quality monitoring, the adoption of the virtual instrument and network technology can overcome these disadvantages very well. Remote power quality monitoring system based on LabVIEW was put forward, as well as the way of the combination of software and hardware and the realization procedure is illustrated in detail in this paper. Then the merits of this way are mentioned, and the additional functions that can be further developed. This paper provides a more convenient way for the realization of remote power quality monitoring

With the analysis of traditional power quality monitor system, this paper introduces the system built by virtual instrument technology. From the power quality indicators and the measuring principles, we designed a data acquisition hardware based on the USB bus and developed the monitoring system applications using LabVIEW software. Comparing with conventional power quality monitoring system, the system overcomes the weaknesses of huge analog test devices. In this system, the intuitive interface makes operation simple with rapid response and small errors. In addition, statements and automatic alarm function is added to the software programming, which will be a great practical significance of the realization of automated monitoring.


It is aimed to carry out the investigation on power quality detection, promote the realization of efficient transmission of network data, and expand the application of wavelet transform change-point detection algorithm in the monitoring system. The voltage deviation is used as a starting point to explore the detection of power quality. First, it describes the harmonics of the public power grid and the limits of harmonic voltage. Second, based on the virtual instrument platform, the power quality monitoring system based on wavelet transform change-point detection algorithm is completed. Finally, by adding a monitoring terminal and a service terminal, the design of the monitoring system server is completed. Through the analysis of the experimental results, it is found that in the monitoring system, the current waveform and the three-phase voltage can be accurately displayed. The combined design of the networked monitoring system and the system server enables the system to complete the rapid transmission of data related to power quality, while having a good monitoring effect. For the optimization of networked monitoring experienceof the server, the application of wavelet transform in power quality measurement is realized. The power quality monitoring system proposed has a strong practicality in power quality monitoring.

This paper analyzes the power quality measuring principles according to the national power quality indicator. And a power quality monitoring system based on LabVIEW has been designed. Five indexes are introduced simply in the paper. They are voltage deviation, frequency deviation, three-phase unbalance degree, power harmonic and voltage fluctuation and flicker. Virtual instrument technology is used in the system. Through the combination of software and hardware and with the help of software simulation, the system gets signal data and analyses the power quality. The main program interface has been shown. Simulation showed that the system is feasible. Compared with the traditional instruments, the system has a friendly man-machine interface and strong processing capacity. It can be operated simply and extended conveniently.
