Brushless Doubly-fed Machine (BDFM) is a new inverter-driven induction motor, and it has broad prospects in wind power generation. This paper analyses the structure and VSCF electricity generating principle of a cascade Brushless Doubly fed Wind Power Generator, deduces the BDFG’s mathematical model, The variable structure control (VSC) was used to the active and reactive power decoupling control of the BDFM, analysis the relation of electromagnetism and energy balance .Finally, simulation and analysis of the whole system and control strategy are carried through in matlab/simulink soft. According to these results, the correct of parameters and simulation model for BDFM is proved.

As an increasing proportion of wind power in power grid, reactive power problem has become the most important problems in wind power integration. But as a result of wind power is a kind of intermittent energy sources, and put it into use in a large scale only just beginning. Many urgent problems which affect on system stability need to be resolved, such as voltage stability, reactive power compensation. This paper discussed the problems which around the reactive power compensation and angle stability issues while wind power integration. The reactive power compensation device named STATCOM instead of traditional capacitance. Establish the mathematical model of the Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) and Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) [3]. In order to meet the wind farm can transport reactive power quickly and continuously after fault. Establish the control strategy of DFIG combined with STATCOM [1]. Using the software MATLAB to simulate the wind power grid model and control system, verifies the rightness and effectiveness of model and STATCOM reactive power compensation effect for wind power integration.

Based on the traditional single power control of the doubly-fed wind generator, this paper proposes an active/reactive power hybrid control method of the doubly-fed wind generator, which associates the operation characteristics of the doubly-fed wind generator with the operating conditions of the power grid. This proposed method incorporates the power variation in the system transmission channel into the calculation of the wind generator power output, and employs the additional control function of the wind generator to increase system damping and restrain system power oscillation. At the same time, the proposed method controls the wind generator to capture the maximum wind power when it is operating at a variable speed with a constant frequency. Moreover, because the proposed method decouples the control of active and reactive power, the converter capacity can be reduced. Simulations in a 9-generator 13-bus system and results indicate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.

With increasing emphasis on the energy crisis and environmental pollutions, wind power has been developing rapidly worldwide. Because of its unique advantage of variable-speed constant-frequency (VSCF), doubly fed induction wind generator (DFIG) has been widely used in the wind power industry. In this paper, a 3.5kW doubly fed induction wind generator is designed and modeled utilizing ANSOFT, after the optimization of the generator parameters, the data of the stator and rotor no-load and full-load are given by simulation. On this basis, a physical model of doubly fed wind generator is established by Maxwell 2D. And through a finite element triangulation, the distributions of magnetic lines of force and magnetic field within the motor are obtained.
