To realize video surveillance at any time and any place, a kind of video surveillance platform based on 3G smart phone was designed. In this paper, the general design scheme of video surveillance system was firstly introduced. Then, the surveillance software development method of smart phone client, the transmission mode and transmission protocol of surveillance video were also emphatically described. This system used SVAC which is kind of specifying surveillance video to meet security-monitoring demand. It used multi-image display to realized multi-channel video surveillance, and also used multi-thread to increase the running speed of software. Experimental results demonstrate that it can obtain stable real-time surveillance video.

In view of the problems existed in moving object detection in video surveillance system, background subtraction method is adopted and combined with Surendra algorithm for background modeling, an algorithm of detecting moving object from video is proposed, and OpenCV programming is adopted in Visual c ++ 6.0 for implementation. Experimental results indicate that the algorithm can accurately detect and identify moving object in video by reading the image sequence of surveillance video, the validity of the algorithm is verified.

Video surveillance technology is playing an important role, and it is widely used in some fields. With the popularity of Android OS, it draws researchers attention to increase the development of video surveillance systems on the platform. This paper presents a smart real-time video surveillance system based on Android smart phone. This system detects moving object by using improved GMM (Gaussian Mixture Mode) algorithm, recognizes invading human with cascade classifier, processes image data with coder & decoder, transmits data over RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol). It also applies some methods to improve the accuracy of moving object detection and recognition, speed up recognition process. The experimental evidences show that it can realize real-time video surveillance and smart alarm.

A video management way based on Oracle interMedia is proposed, to make up the shortages of single classify and low search efficiency based on files in traditional video surveillance system. The solution is designed on structural description model for video, proposed a classify way which described the video from attribute, character, main frame summary and video data. Adopt interMedia to create table in Oracle, achieve classify storage for video and description. At last, design the test software in VC. Experimental results show that the video can storage in Oracle well, compared with the traditional file storage way, it has a better classify storage and search efficiency.

As people for the need on more security, traditional fixed video surveillance cannot satisfied with people’s varying requirements. This paper demonstrates the framework of a set of mobile video surveillance which support CDMA2000/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA network, RTP protocol is chosen as the transport protocol and H.264 is chosen as the video compression standard. Select RTCP protocol gather packet loss fraction parameter that controls the transmission rate of RTP traffic. We analyze RTP/RTCP protocol and media data transmission process in video surveillance system; discuss the current video transmission method in video surveillance system, the problem of packet loss while transporting video data, and extract packet process of RTP packet.


A video surveillance system design requires making decisions that demand knowledge of basic options and the rationale for selecting from different ones available on the market. One needs to face making the following key decisions: choosing the best video surveillance companies, camera types, camera connection to video management system, video management system types, storage type, video analytics type, surveillance video display, and integrating video with other systems.
