Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles thin films were prepared by electrostatic spray deposition technique. The effect of the deposition times on properties of TiO2 films was investigated. The characteristics of TiO2 thin films were performed by X-ray diffraction, and Raman spectroscopy. In addition, the TiO2 nanoparticles thin film was deposited onto the interdigited electrodes to fabricate the humidity sensor device. The humidity adsorption and desorption properties of the sensor were studies. The sensing mechanism of the humidity device can be explained by complex impedance analysis.

In this work, thin film of silver nanoparticles for humidity sensor application was deposited by electrostatic spray deposition technique. The influence of the deposition times on properties of films was studied. The crystal structures of sample films, their surface morphology, and optical properties have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and UV-VIS spectrophotometer, respectively. The crystalline structure of silver nanoparticles thin film was found in the orientation of (100) and (200) planes of cubic structure at diffraction angles 2θ  =  38.2° and 44.3°, respectively. Moreover, the silver nanoparticles thin films humidity sensor was fabricated onto the interdigitated electrodes. The sensor exhibited the humidity adsorption and desorption properties. The sensing mechanisms of the device were also elucidated by complex impedance analysis.

In this work, the influence of the substrate temperature on properties of cobalt oxide thin films has been reported. Cobalt oxide thin films were prepared by electrostatic spray deposition technique on glass substrate at different temperature of the substrate. The properties of cobalt oxide films were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope, Raman spectroscopy, UV-visible spectrophotometer, respectively. In additional, the crystalline structural parameters can be performed from XRD data. Phase transformation of cobalt oxide films due to different substrate temperature was observed. Moreover, the optical properties of films were depended on the quantity of phase transition in cobalt oxide film.

The electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) is a method of coating thin films based on electrostatic atomization. This paper proposes a method of quantifying the transport of droplets using images of spray patterns measured by the vision system during the ESD process, and verifies by experiment the correlation between the quantified parameters for the dispersion shape of the spray and the thickness of the deposited thin film. When using the proposed method, the ESD process can be optimized simply by monitoring variations of the spray shapes caused by the process conditions. In addition, the proposed method can be applicable to the in-line monitoring method of the variation in the transport of droplets during the ESD process.
