Steel cofferdam has an abroad application in high pile cap construction in deep water foundations. Because of the obvious three-dimensional effect and its complex stress and strain, the traditional simplified calculating method couldn’t reach the requirements of practical engineering. The general purpose finite element software Ansys was used to analyze the stress and strain of steel cofferdam and sealing concrete, and achieved a good effect to ensure the engineering safety.

In this paper, a three-dimensional model of a steel sculpture was analyzed by using the finite element software ANSYS. The structural static response were achieved respectively under gravity load, ice load and wind load based on wind tunnel tests with the dynamic response under earthquake action. Besides, the structural parameters such as strength and stiffness under different conditions were also got. It is hoped that the analysis of ultrahigh steel sculpture will offer some technical support for practical engineering.

Drilling frame on TD165CH Down-The-Hole Drill that has large slenderness ratio and be longer than 10m is one component of Down-The-Hole drill which is mainly subjected to load.In the process of drilling, drilling frame is not only subjected to loads which are like tensile, compression and torsion and so on, and be under the influence of impacting and vibration of impactor, the situation of force is complicated.By analysing of working condition of Down-The-Hole drill, there get all kinds of limit states of typical working conditions, and then using Ansys doing finite element analysis, there get distribution of the stress and strain of drilling frame and the result of modal analysis to check whether drilling frame meets the requirements of strength and stiffness or not,and whether it is possible to resonate with the impactor or not.By analysis,Structure strength and stiffness of drilling Frame on TD165CH Down-The-Hole drill meet the requirements of practical engineering, and drilling Frame does not resonate with the impactor.

Millions in the world suffering diabetes mellitus depends on insulin therapy to control their blood glucose level daily. However, the painful daily injections they need to take could lead to other complications if it is not done correctly. To date, it is suggested by many researchers and medical doctors that the needles should be inserted at any angles of 90º or 45º. Nevertheless, this recommendation has not been supported by clinical or biomechanical evaluation. Hence, this study evaluates the needle insertion for insulin therapy to find the favourable angles in order to reduce injury and pain onto the skin. Finite element analysis was done by  simulating the injection of three-dimensional (3D) needle model into a 3D skin model. The insertions were simulated at two different angles, which are 45ºand 90º with two different lengths of needles; 4 mm and 6 mm. This study concluded the favourable angle for 4 mm needle to be 90º while 6 mm needle was best to be inserted at 45º as these angles exerted the least maximum stress and strain onto the skin.

In port crane industry, the surface hardening technique is widely used in order to improve the strength of wheel. But the hardening depth is chosen only by according to the experience, and the effect of different hardened depths is not studied theoretically. In this paper, the contact stresses in wheel with different hardening depth have been analyzed by applying three-dimensional finite element model. Based on this model, the ANSYS10.0 finite element software is used. The elastic wheel is used to verify the numerical results with the Hertz’s theory. Three different hardening depths, namely 10mm, 25mm and whole hardened wheel, under three different vertical loads were applied. The effect of hardening depth of a surface hardened wheel is discussed by comparing the contact stresses and contact areas from the numerical results.

This paper adopts general finite element software to carry out three-dimensional finite element simulation analysis for Huizeli reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct. Considering four combination cases in aqueduct’s construction and operating process, researching variation laws of the aqueduct’s stress and displacement. Analysis results show that design scheme of Huizeli reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct is reasonable, it can meet design requirements. Analysis results provide some theory references for design of reinforced concrete rectangular-sectioned aqueduct.

New full hall scaffolds with pulley-clip style formwork support system is adopted in the concert hall of Changsha. This paper presents the concept of the complete equivalent initial imperfection according to the characteristics of too many influential factors on the high formwork supporting frame, then makes the complete equivalent initial imperfectione equivalent to assumed equivalent horizontal load in order to ensure the safety of the frame. At the same time, it gets a three-dimensional model by the general finite element software ANSYS 10.0. Based on the results of experiment and finite element analysis, it gets the recommended value of assumed equivalent horizontal load. The study on the high formwork supporting frame with pulley-clip style provides some reference for other similar projects.

The All-on-4 design was used successfully for restoring edentulous mandible. This design avoids anatomic cripples such as inferior alveolar nerve by tilting posterior implants. Moreover, tilting posterior implants of All-on-4 design had a mechanical preference than the conventional design. On the other hand, the anterior implants are parallel at the lateral incisor region. Several researches showed favorable results for tilting posterior implants. However, research did not study the influence of the anterior implant position or orientation on the mechanical aspects of this design. This study analyzes the influence of varying anterior implant position and orientation of the All-on-4 design using nonlinear contact 3D finite-element analysis. Three copied 3-dimensional models of the All-on-4 design were classified according to anterior implant position and orientation. The frictional contact between fixtures and bone was the contact type in this finite element analysis. Finally, von Mises stress and strain at implant and bone levels were recorded and analyzed using finite element software. Stress concentrations were detected mainly around the posterior implant at the loaded side. Values of the maximum equivalent stress and strain were around tilted implants of design III followed by design II, then design I. Changing the position or orientation of the anterior implants in All-on-4 design influences stress-strain distribution of the whole design.

Using the mechanical design of the software Solid works to established the 280 t LF the ladle furnace transportation car frame three dimensional model, and by using the finite element analysis of software Cosmos/works to static analysis for the frames, revealing that the frame of structure stress and strain distribution map of the frame, and also reveals that dangerous points and dangerous sections. Using resistance strain gauge to measure 280 t ladle transportation car frame, it is concluded that the frame of stress and strain distributions. Through the electrical measurement test the results were compared with finite element analysis results, further proof that the finite element analysis of the accuracy of the results provides theory basis for the optimization design of the frames.
