Abstract: Double Wishbone suspension systems are by far the best choice of suspension systems recommended for sports vehicles. It is more stable and stiffer when compared to the other suspension geometries. In this report a brief study of how a double-wishbone suspension system acts under loading conditions when traveling at high speeds is presented, also the forces acting on its components are analysed, and post-processed results are discussed. The geometry of the whole suspension is designed on SolidWorks and analysis is performed on Ansys software. Further the results from the analysis are studied based on material selection and various analysis methods. Finally, the proposed suspension system is concluded safe to use when the values of Equivalent stress, Total Deformation, and Factor of Safety were measured and under threshold limits. Keywords: double wishbone suspension, static structural, suspension system, analysis, deformation, Ansys, stress analysis, FOS, FEA, structural analysis.

This study aims to develop and analyse a finite element model of the endodontic nickel-titanium (NiTi) instrument during the root canal treatment (RCT). The 3D model of the tooth and the endodontic instrument has been created using computer-aided design software. The nonlinear explicit dynamic analysis in the CAE package (ANSYS) has been used to analyse the mechanical behaviour of endodontic instruments such as total deformation, equivalent elastic strain, and equivalent stress during canal preparation. The mechanical behaviour of three commercially available endodontic NiTi alloy instruments such as WaveOne Gold (WOG), 2Shape 1 (TS1) and 2Shape 2 (TS2) endodontic files was evaluated using FEA. Consequently, the effect of deformation, equivalent stress and equivalent elastic strain on endodontic files during cleaning and shaping are investigated and compared. The results show that the total deformation and equivalent elastic strain are maximum in the TS1 endodontic file in comparison to TS2 and WOG files. Graphical abstract [Formula: see text]

To meet the challenge of regenerating bone lost to disease or trauma, biodegradable scaffolds are being investigated as a way to regenerate bone without the need for an auto- or allograft. Herein, we prepared poly (lactic acid) (PLA)/chitosan(CS)/nano-hydroxyapatite biomaterials through solution polymerization and solvent volatilization. Cefadroxil was used as a model drug for loading on biomaterials using supercritical carbon dioxide. In addition, we investigated the in vitro drug release effect, and the in vitro release results showed that the drug could release more than 73% of the drug load within 48[Formula: see text]h. This excellent drug release property could allow continuous drug use at the wound site, further broadening its application in the medical field. A three-dimensional finite element (FE) model of bone screws was established, and the mechanical properties of the screws were numerically calculated. The stress and deformation of the bone screws under different external conditions were simulated. The bending simulation showed that the screw can withstand the maximum deformation of 0.418[Formula: see text]mm and equivalent stress of 566.94[Formula: see text]MPa at a force of 700 N. The maximum equivalent stress of the screw reached 321.84[Formula: see text]MPa, and the corresponding torque was 779.68 N[Formula: see text]mm when the torsion angle was gradually increased to 30[Formula: see text]. The fabricated material has excellent mechanical properties and can be used for bone repair. This study provides a new direction for preparing drug-loaded polymer biomaterials and developing new materials for bone repair.

Surface mechanical attrition treatment enhances the mechanical properties of metallic materials by inducing high strength layer on the top surface. In this study, multiple-shot impact behavior was modeled for the 7075-T6 aluminum alloy to achieve maximum magnitudes of equivalent stress, plastic strain, residual stress depth, and residual stress. Finite element simulations have been carried out to investigate the effect of selected framework on stress and strains in constituent. The plastic deformation process during SMAT was analyzed using ANSYS/AUTODYN explicit dynamic solver according to shot velocity and diameter with a dynamic explicit finite element method (FEM). Deformation behavior was evaluated after multiple-shot impact.

Abstract Sludge is the inevitable product of sewage treatment plant and sewage treatment. Before sludge treatment, dewatering is generally required. Mechanical sludge dewatering machine is a common sludge dewatering equipment. Due to the complex operation conditions, the stability of sludge dewatering machine frame directly affects its reliability. In this paper, a mechanical sludge dewatering machine frame as the research object, based on ANSYS Workbench finite element analysis platform, static analysis and modal analysis. The analysis results show that: under normal working conditions, the maximum variable of the frame is 0.07mm, which can effectively ensure the normal operation of the sludge dewatering machine; the equivalent stress is 4.22Mpa, which is far less than the Xu Yong stress of the material; the vibration of the first two modes of the frame is relatively concentrated, and the corresponding motor speed under the interference frequency is 1241.4-1595.4r/min, which should be avoided in the use process.

Abstract The spray dustless machine is an important environmental protection equipment for harnessing haze. The booster impeller of the spray dustless machine is one of the decisive factors of the booster capacity. The stability of the blade directly determines the reliability of the spray duster. In this paper, ANSYS Workbench is used to analyze the mechanical characteristics of a certain type of spray dustless blade. The results show that: under the rated condition, the maximum equivalent stress of the impeller is 55.6Mpa, which is far less than the allowable stress of the impeller material 415Mpa, the maximum deformation of the circumferential position at the bottom of the blade is 1.2mm, and other deformation positions are mainly the outer edge of the blade, which can be optimized later. The interference frequency is far away from the vibration frequency of the first two modes, so resonance will not occur.

Based on the actual parameters of the capacitor energy storage cabinet on the top of the monorail train, built the cabinet’s finite element model. Then, according to EN 12663-1, set the calibration conditions and fatigue working conditions. Carried out the simulation calculation under different conditions, respectively. The calculation results under the static calibration conditions show that the maximum equivalent stress of each node on the model is smaller than the allowable stress under all working conditions. Therefore, the static strength of the cabinet meets the design requirements. Plotted Goodman fatigue limit diagrams of the cabinet’s base metal and weld and modified them in the Smith form. Then plotted the average stress and stress amplitude under fatigue working conditions in the corresponding scatter diagram. The diagram s show that all points are located within the permitted area. The results show that the fatigue strength of the cabinet meets the requirements of design and use.

Abstract Food waste accounts for 30% - 50% of domestic waste, and its centralized treatment is difficult. For commercial places with large production of food waste, it is a better way to use grinding mill to crush food waste and then discharge it into sewer. The mechanical properties of grinding plate are the decisive factors affecting the performance of grinding mill. In this paper, the static analysis and modal analysis of the grinding plate of commercial grinding mill are carried out. The results show that: under the rated load, the maximum equivalent stress of grinding hammer is 83.4mpa, the maximum equivalent stress of cutter head is 77.6mpa, which meets the design requirements, but the stress is relatively concentrated. The lowest modal vibration frequency of the lapping plate is 456.2hz, and the lapping plate will not have resonance damage under normal conditions.

Additive manufacturing has been adopted widely across various industries for producing parts mainly due to their ability to create complex geometries, eliminate material wastage and enable faster production rate, among others. Additive manufacturing has also increased design solution space by enabling exploration of mechatronic solutions for mechanical structures. This includes the integration of smart devices into wing structures to achieve a datadriven predictive maintenance-based system. For this, there is still the need to continuously explore various ways of integrating sensory capability into a mechanical structure during the manufacturing processes to ensure improvement and reliability of aircraft components. The scope of this paper was to analyse different wing rib geometries and the influence of embedding sensory capability via design for additive manufacturing process. In this work, three wing rib geometries with cut-outs and for sensory placement were designed and analysed to estimate their equivalent stress and deformation when such sensory locations are introduced. The results confirm the idea that it is feasible to introduce holding cavities for structural performance monitoring sensors without compromising the structural design requirements. The results also show that deformation and stress are highly dependent on the rib thickness and the insertion of sensory locations

The purpose of an automotive chassis is to maintain the shape of the vehicle and bear the various loads that are applied to the vehicle. The structure typically accounts for a large portion of the development and production costs of the new vehicle program, and the designer has many different structural concepts available. Choosing the best is important to ensure acceptable structural performance under other design constraints, such as cost, volume and method of production, product application, and more. The material selection for chassis depends upon various factors like lightness, economy, safety, recyclability, and circulation of life. The current study aims to perform optimization of the design of a heavy vehicle chassis using central composite design & optimal space fill design scheme (s) with the material tested is Al6092/SiC/17.5p MMC. Different design points are generated using design of experiments. The equivalent stress, deformation and mass are evaluated for each design points. The CAD modelling and FE simulation of heavy motor vehicle chassis is conducted using ANSYS software. From the optimization conducted on chassis design, response surface plots of equivalent stress, deformation and mass are generated which enabled to determine the range of dimensions for which these parameters are maximum or minimum. The use of Discontinuously Reinforced Aluminium-Matrix Composites Al6092/SiC/17.5p MMC aided to reduce weight of chassis by 66.25% and 66.68% by using CCD and Optimal space fill design scheme respectively, without much reduction in strength of chassis.
