Application of Projection Pursuit Dynamic Cluster Model in Eco-Environmental Quality Assessment

Based on projection pursuit principle, a projection pursuit dynamic cluster (PPDC) model is developed, which is used in eco-environmental quality assessment for the first time in this paper. A new projection index is constructed based on dynamic cluster in the PPDC model. There is no parameter calibration in the PPDC model, which may lead to do an objective assessment. A case study of eco-environmental quality assessment of China is given at last. The results show the PPDC model is reasonable and easy to operate in practice, which is a new method for eco-environmental quality assessment.
