Obvious physical process differences exist between overlapping area and non-overlapping area by broad-beam laser cladding, also the parallel and vertical interface of RP.By comparing the microstructure and performance, the result shows: the microstructure of overlapping area has broken crystal, the size of overlapping area crystal is bigger than the non-overlapping one.Repeated heating makes overlapping area secondary dissolving out and having higher rigidity;Between layer and layer of broad-beam laser cladding RP is metallurgical combination completely, the degree of uniformity of central microstructures performance is good, hardness of the bow shape area between overlapping layer and matrix is greatly increased.

This paper is based on the dry sliding wear of Stellite SF 12- B 4 C - TiN - Mo composite coating deposited on a pure Ti using a laser cladding technique, the parameters of which provide almost crack-free composites with low porosity. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that Stellite SF 12- B 4 C - TiN - Mo mixed powders are deposited as the hard composites by a laser cladding technique. Scanning electron microscope images indicate that the nanoscale particles are produced in such coating. The fact that due to the sufficiently rapid heating and cooling rates of the laser cladding technique, the ceramics, such as TiC or TiB 2 did not have enough time to grow up, resulting in the formation of the nanoscale particles. Compared with a pure Ti substrate, the increments of the micro-hardness and wear resistance are obtained for such composite coating.

To explore the effect of laser scanning speed on the microstructure and performance of Cr3C2-NiCr cermet layers fabricated by in-situ laser cladding, Cr3C2-NiCr cermet layers were laser cladded from Ni/Cr/Graphite (25:65:10 wt.%) elemental powder mixtures. The microstructures of the laser cladded cermet layers and the formation mechanism were investigated. In addition, the effect of laser scanning speed on the microstructure, friction and corrosion performance of the Cr3C2-NiCr cermet layers was studied. The results indicated that the in-situ laser cladded Cr3C2-NiCr cermet layers were composed of NiCr binder and Cr3C2. The laser scanning speed had a significant influence on the carbide content, composition and size. Furthermore, it affected the in-situ laser cladded cermet layer’s hardness and wear resistance. The corrosion resistance of the in-situ laser cladded cermet layer was superior to that of laser cladded nickel-based alloy and was improved with decreasing laser scanning speed.
