The fault current limit technology based on the principle of permanent-magnet-biased saturation has several outstanding advantages in both economy and technology. A modeling method of PMFCL based on the finite element analysis platform – Maxwell is presented in this paper. The current limiting mechanism of line-type PMFCL is analyzed, on the basis of which the 2D and 3D models are established in Maxwell, and the corresponding experiments are designed as well. Comparisons between the simulation and experimental results indicate that the modeling method is reasonable. Research achievements of this paper provides theoretical basis for further studies of PMFCL.

This paper presents a mitigation method of slot harmonic cogging torque considering unevenly magnetized magnets in a permanent magnet synchronous motor. In previous studies, it has been confirmed that non-uniformly magnetized permanent magnets cause an unexpected increase of cogging torque because of additional slot harmonic components. However, these studies did not offer a countermeasure against it. First, in this study, the relationship between the residual magnetic flux density of the permanent magnet and the cogging torque is derived from the basic form of the Maxwell stress tensor equation. Second, the principle of the slot harmonic cogging torque generation is explained qualitatively, and the mitigation method of the slot harmonic component is proposed. Finally, the proposed method is verified with the finite element analysis and experimental results.

As one of the most applicable to high-voltage network superconducting fault current limiterSCFCL(saturated core superconducting fault current limiter) ,which use of core saturation properties can be achieved the current-limiting function without delay ,will be the most widely applied in the future,By analyzing the working principle of SCFCL,this paper use of PSCAD and finite element analysis software Ansoft to build the 500kV\/3150A grade SCFCL model and accurate calculation coil self-inductance and mutual inductance, the harmonic of each size and analyzed its Impedance characteristic on the different external parameters,The results show that SCFCL has a excellent performance for high voltage power network short-circuit current limitation, and provides important reference for design.
