It is possible to see various applications of mathematical optimization in civil engineering (structural design, reconstruction of transportation networks etc.) Initially, deterministic approaches have been introduced to solve these problems. But despite their complexity, these approaches are insufficient to comprehend the probabilistic nature of said problems and thus provide only suboptimal solutions. Hence the effort comes to reconsider these deterministic approaches and deal with uncertainties involved in said problems in less straightforward way. The goal of the paper is to present the algorithm for stochastic optimization of design of steel-reinforced concrete cross-section. This algorithm is based on internal cycle of deterministic optimization using reduced gradient method and external cycle of stochastic optimization using regression analysis. Firstly, the deterministic problem is introduced and described. It is followed by the description of uncertainties, which are involved in the process, and stochastic reformulation of the problem. Then the algorithm itself is introduced and the paper ends with presentation of the results of performed calculations.

Abstract A large number of infrastructural concrete buildings are protected against aggressive environments by coating systems. The functionality of these coating systems is mainly affected by the composition and thickness of the individual polymeric layers. For the first time ever, a mobile nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) sensor allows a non-destructive determination of these important parameters on the building site. However, before this technique can be used on steel-reinforced concrete elements, the potential effect of the reinforcement on the measurement, i.e. the NMR signal, needs to be studied. The results show a shift of the NMR profile as well as an increase of the signals amplitude in the case of the reinforced samples, while calculating the thickness of concrete coating leading to identical results.

Stress-strain state and compressed flexible steel-reinforced concrete elements resistance capacity are investigated in the work. The experiment program is complied and steel reinforced concrete elements calculations methods are analyzed. Experimental sample design drawings are shown. Raw materials physical and mechanical properties are determined. Steel reinforced-concrete elements experimental and research studies have been carried out. Coboundary dependences N-M for steel reinforced concrete elements construction method is proposed. Resistance capacity diagrams for steel reinforced concrete elements are constructed depending on the element height and the applied eccentricity.

In civil engineering, steel reinforced concrete is currently still the most widely used composite material. For broad spectrum of utilization is the most important combination of a high compressive and tensile strength [1]. The increasing demand for subtle concrete elements gave impetus to the development of the new materials for the reinforcement of concrete which are non-corrodible and thus do not need such a thick coating layer-technical textiles. These composite materials are known under the title Textile Reinforced Concrete – TRC. The current research reported the use of AR glass fibers reinforced material for HPC and comparison with other reinforced materials.

In this work the experimental research cycle is described. This cycle is an affect studying of the most widespread concrete defect types, such as concrete core weakening is an inclusion of the "weak" concrete, the presence of emptiness, concrete heterogeneous by the height. The research of the manufacturing conditions affect of combine concrete core structures and the elements of physical and mechanical characteristics changing are on the experimental research base. On the researches testing base of samples with special form and given sizes the concrete strength value is appreciated. The different variants of strength decreasing on the researched element height are analyzed by the conducted testing results of the steel reinforced concrete structures. As a result of the conducted tests, the work conditions coefficient and the steel reinforced concrete elements concreting technology were formulated.

The experimental studies results of reinforced concrete elements with sheet reinforcement load bearing capacity are presented. The drawing of experimental designs is shown. The bearing capacity dependence graphs of the tested steel-reinforced concrete samples with sheet reinforcement on the height of the element and dependence graphs of tested steel-reinforced concrete samples with sheet reinforcement carrying capacity on the applied eccentricity are constructed. The photo shows the destruction character of experimental steel-concrete samples with sheet reinforcement depending on their height. The general schedule of bearing capacity dependence on the height of the element and the eccentricity of the applied load is constructed.
