Cutler spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a very early maturing, semidwarf, spring wheat with special adaptation to the Parkland region of the Western Prairies, and is suitable for production where early maturity is a prime consideration and where leaf rust rarely occurs. It received registration No. 3356 and is eligible for grades of Canada Prairie Spring (red).Key words: Triticum aestivum L., spring wheat, early maturity, cultivar description

Kenyon hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) possesses excellent resistance to leaf rust and stem rust. Kenyon was developed using the backcross breeding method, resulting in the recovery of the maturity and wide adaptation of its recurrent parent Neepawa. Wildcat (Triticum aestivum L.) is an early maturing, extra strong gluten cultivar adapted to the Peace River and Parkland regions of western Canada. Wildcat is shorter and more lodging resistant than Glenlea, it is moderately resistant to leaf and stem rust, resistant to loose smut but susceptible to common bunt. AC Norboro is a spring feed wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em. Thell.) with high grain yield and early maturity. It is moderately resistant to powdery mildew, and susceptible to leaf blotch. AC Norboro is slightly more susceptible to fusarium head blight than AC Wilmot, Belvedere, and AC Baltic. AC Norboro was developed by Agriculture And Agri-Food Canada. AC Domain hard red spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) exhibited high levels of pre-harvest sprouting tolerance and is adapted to the Canadian prairies. In Manitoba, the grain yield of AC Domain was 3.4 to 7.4% higher than the check cultivars, while in Saskatchewan it was 3.3 to 8% lower. AC Domain had shorter, stronger straw than the check cultivars. AC Domain is eligible for all grades of the Canada Western Red Spring (CWRS) wheat class. AC Crystal is a red-seeded spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). In combining high grain yield and resistance to prevalent races of common bunt in a semidwarf, photoperiod-insensitive background it is similar to AC Taber. It has improvements relative to AC Taber: resistance to prevalent races of loose smut, except race T9, and stronger gluten properties. AC Crystal has improved resistance to leaf spots compared to Neepawa, AC Karma, and AC Foremost. It is eligible for grades of the Canada Prairie Spring (Red) wheat class.
