Diagnosing cancer during pregnancy is uncommon. Although pregnancies with concomitant malignancies have been reported, urological tumours are possibly the most rarely identified tumours during pregnancy. Renal cell carcinoma appears to be the most common urological malignancy during pregnancy. In this case report, we discuss successful management of a patient who was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma during the antenatal period.

Background: Pink spots in teeth were first described by Mummery in 1920, and were related to resorption. Resorption is a pathologic process that often eludes the clinician with its varied etiologic factors and diverse clinical presentations. Resorption can be generally classified as internal and external resorption. Internal resorption has been described as a rare occurrence as compared to external resorption. Case report: This article describes a pink spot that was diagnosed as a progressing resorption process. Early diagnosis enabled a successful management of the lesion. Conclusion: Early diagnosis and treatment of an internal resorption, clinically seen as a pink spot, in a primary central incisor may prevent its fast progress and subsequent loss.

Snakebites in pregnancy can result in significant maternal and fetal harm; however, the literature to guide management of this rare obstetric complication remains limited. We describe our approach to envenomation in pregnancy based on the currently available evidence. A 27-year-old G2P1 female presented at 27 weeks’ gestation after suffering a copperhead snakebite. She received antivenom and antenatal steroids without adverse maternal or fetal event. Antenatal testing was reassuring throughout admission, and she was discharged home with plans for close outpatient surveillance. She later developed preterm premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor, with delivery of a live infant at 33 weeks’ gestation. The risk of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes following snake envenomation in pregnancy may warrant closer antenatal surveillance than has been previously described.
