An experimental device was built to study fatigue crack propagation in Large Scale Yielding (LSY) conditions. This paper deals with results obtained for the first experiment performed on a 316L quasi-structure containing four initial cracks. Crack lengths are measured and thermocouples and strain gauges enabled to follow the test. A comparison of this experiment was then carried out with an operating transient and measured crack growth rates were compared to the RSE-M PWR codified laws [1].
