CAREER PREPARATION TRAINING SEBAGAI LANGKAH MENGHADAPI TANTANGAN KARIR DI ERA NEW NORMAL

Semakin pesatnya perkembangan teknologi serta semakin terbatasnya lapangan pekerjaan membuat persaingan dalam dunia kerja semakin tinggi. Angkatan kerja dihadapkan pada berbagai kondisi yang sulit terlebih karena adanya pandemi di tahun 2020 ini. Banyak sektor industri yang tertekan sehingga berdampak pada berkurangnya lowongan pekerjaan. Ini tentunya semakin diperparah oleh kondisi di mana jumlah angkatan kerja terus-menerus meningkat seiring semakin bertambahnya jumlah lulusan baik dari perguruan tinggi maupun sekolah menengah atas. Untuk itu, penting sekali program peningkatan kompetensi bagi para lulusan melalui beberapa kegiatan pelatihan dan kursus. Salah satu kegiatan dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian training program career preparation. Career preparation adalah program yang dilakukan untuk memberikan materi berupa persiapan karir seperti pembuatan curriculum vitae yang menarik, pembuatan akun Linkedin, pelatihan wawancara serta materi tentang sosialisasi kursus gratis yang bisa diakses dari rumah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan sebagai bentuk respon atas permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat khususnya pada kelompok nonformal. Dengan berkolaborasi, tim pelaksana memilih kelompok sasaran yang memiliki permasalahan dalam hal persiapan tantangan karir. Tujuan dari program ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja yang semakin berat saat ini. Sasaran program training ini adalah anggota IOSON Lingkar Penggerak. IOSON Lingkar Penggerak merupakan organisasi nonformal yang bergerak di bidang kemanusiaan yang anggotanya sebagian besar berusia 16-30 tahun. Metode kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan secara daring melalui aplikasi Zoom Cloud Meeting dan dibagi dalam beberapa sesi. Hasil yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan peserta dalam menyusun curriculum vitae yang menarik, mampu memanfaatkan aplikasi Linkedin untuk menemukan lowongan pekerjaan, serta memiliki kemampuan yang bagus dalam menghadapi wawancara kerja

Published evaluations of career preparation of alumni from long-standing postdoctoral fellowship programs in the biomedical sciences are limited and often focus on quantitative analysis of data from extant publicly available sources. Qualitative methods provide the opportunity to gather robust information about specific program elements from structured postdoctoral training programs and the influence of this training on subsequent career paths of alumni. In-depth interviews with a subset of the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program (CPFP) alumni (n = 27), representing more than 25 years of the program’s history and multiple career sectors, were conducted to assess alumni reflections on the training environment and career preparation during their time in the CPFP. NVivo software was used to analyze data and identify major themes. Four main themes emerged from these interviews, including: the value of structured training curriculum, mentorship, transdisciplinary environment, and professional identity. Even when reflecting on training that occurred one to two decades earlier, alumni were able to highlight specific components of a structured postdoctoral training program as influencing their research and career trajectories. These results may have relevance for those interested in assessing how postdoctoral training can influence fellows throughout their careers and understanding salient features of structured programs.

Online Learning is not yet familiar to most students and educators in Indonesia. So, trainingprogram on online learning needs to be done. However, activities carried out by gathering a lot oftime must be stopped because of the Covid-19 epidemic, including training activities. New normalis a new chapter for the world of education even though the conditions due to the Covid-19pandemic have not fully recovered. This is because the aspiration to educate the nation's life mustbe pursued through education. More than 4 (four) months, the learning process is carried out onlineso that there is a need for evaluation to improve the learning process which raises a lot of criticismfrom the community at the beginning of its application. Academics have also shown their concernby holding webinars as a forum for online discussion and sharing. For this reason, online training isheld as a substitute for offline training specifically for English lecturers. This training and mentoringprogram is held for 2 (two) months with various presenters who are also filled by lecturers /practitioners who are experts in their fields. Participants in the activity are lecturers from StateUniversities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS) and are also open to the public. Apart fromimproving the skills of the participants, this training program can also be used as a means ofexpanding the network throughout Indonesia. The forums created can also be used to discuss thelearning process at each campus.

The community empowerment of Air Hitam Kelurahan, Kota Samarinda was carried out by the PkM team to open business opportunities, skills, innovation, and awareness of health protocols in community activities, especially in the new normal era. It is hoped that this service activity will provide direction to the community to create an atmosphere, condition or climate that allows the potential for the community to develop, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on this focus, the objectives of PkM are (1) Community empowerment through waste paper processing programs, especially for PKK mothers, (2) Improve health protocols for transportation services, and (3) Simultaneous Pilkada preparation in the New Normal Era. The method of implementation is through the Participatory Need Assessment (PNA) approach and also assistance in collaboration, idea contributors, facilitators with local communities. The result of this PkM is to hold a training program for making used newspaper crafts which aims to open business opportunities for housewives for members of the Air Hitam Village PKK, as well as to socialize the application of Health protocols in transportation services and the implementation of Pilkada to stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
