With the increased number of vehicles, parking supplies should meet parking demands. In urban areas due to Irregular construction and excessive population growth cities required re-planning and site selection of parking places. In this have a look at, technical evaluation became developed to determine vicinity-based totally parking call for with the aid of the use of Geographic data gadget (GIS). After doing observe on parking call for and deliver balance, the region-allocation strategies have been implemented to decide the great places of parking, depending on parking call for. This technical tool becomes tested for an urban location. As a result, a creative records processing method became evolved to determine the quality locations of vehicle parking. Geographic statistics structures (GIS) technology has been used for a numerous plans inside the transportation industry. This GIS device has come with many new makes use of, benefits, and demanding situations. This challenge can display the ability of GIS to help transportation evaluation and planning.

Underground space for disaster prevention is a key component of urban disaster prevention system. The study applied GIS technology, established an indicator system and a comprehensive assessment model for site selection of urban underground space for disaster prevention. The result of the study, which is on the basis of GIS data collection and model principle, provided quantitative foundation for disaster prevention planning of underground space, and also helped to improve planning management and decision making.

The development of GIS technology provides a new approach for the decision-making of Tourist Resort, which can effectively make up for the deficiencies of traditional methods. The site selection of the tourist resort involved the investors’ marketing strategy, the economic characteristics of the market, the traffic characteristics, the natural conditions of the chosen location, the historical and cultural background, the cultural landscape, the decision-making behavior of the government and the residents' attitude, is a process influenced by various factors. Taking the example of a certain tourist resort, extracting some information related to the spatial location by analyzing the factors of tourist resort site selection can solve the tourist resort location problem with the help of spatial analysis functions based on GIS. The result shows that this technology is of great practical value.

Site selection is one of the most important issues of the construction of a rational and efficient public bike system. In connection with the limitations of traditional methods of site selection, this thesis puts forward a site selection method based on GIS. The application of GIS technology provides site selection with a new idea and method, makes up for the shortcomings of traditional research methods and lets decision-making about site selection possess scientific and intuitive image, data and information.

From earliest cities to the present, spatial division into residential zones and neighbourhoods is the universal feature of urban areas. This study explored issue of measuring neighbourhoods through spatial autocorrelation method based on Moran's I index in respect of achieving to best neighbourhoods' model for forming cities smarter. The research carried out by selection of 35 neighbourhoods only within central part of traditional city of Kerman in Iran. The results illustrate, 75% of neighbourhoods' area in the inner city of Kerman had clustered pattern, and it shows reduction in Moran's index is associated with disproportional distribution of density and increasing in Moran's I and Z-score have monotonic relation with more dense areas and clustered pattern. It may be more efficient for urban planner to focus on spatial autocorrelation to foster neighbourhood cohesion rather than emphasis on suburban area. It is recommended characteristics of historic neighbourhoods can be successfully linked to redevelopment plans toward making city smarter, and also people's quality of life can be related to the way that neighbourhoods' patterns are defined.

Land treatment is defined as the hazardous waste management technology related to application and incorporation of waste into the defined treatment zone of the soil where will occur the degradation, transformation and immobilization of the constituents contained in the applied waste, to ensure protection of surface water and groundwater. This paper describes some criteria for site selection of land treatment facilities used by petroleum refineries, as well as the engineering design, management practices to optimize the process and closure and post-closure techniques.

As a result of the financial crisis of 2007–2008 and subsequent central banking decisions, the asset management industry changed its asset allocation choices. Asset managers are focusing their attention on the search for new asset classes by taking advantage of the new opportunities to capture risk premia with the aim of exceeding the returns given by traditional investments, including traded equities, fixed income securities, and cash. By doing so, they are trying to improve the selection of alternative assets, such as commodities that sometimes have relatively low correlations with traditional assets. The chapter begins by describing the principles of asset allocation, distinguishing between passive and active asset allocation, also focusing on beta and alternative beta. It then concentrates on how investors can gain exposure to commodities through different investment vehicles and strategies.
