Smart parking is becoming more and more an integral part of smart city initiatives. Utilizing and managing parking areas is a challenging task as space is often limited, finding empty spaces are hard and citizens want to park their vehicles close to their preferred places. This becomes worse in important/posh areas of major metropolitan cities during rush hour. Due to unavailability of proper parking management system, citizens have to roam around a lot in order to find a suitable parking area. This leads to the wastage of valuable time, unnecessary fuel consumption and environmental pollution. This paper proposes a smart parking management system (SPMS) based on multiple criteria based parking space reservation algorithm (MCPR) that allows the driver/owner of vehicles to find and reserve most appropriate parking space from anywhere at any time. The system also considers the concept of dynamic pricing strategy for calculating parking charge in order to gain more revenue by the government agencies as well as private investors. The system employs sensors to calculate concentration index, average inter-arrival time of vehicles of a parking area for better parking management and planning. The simulation results show that proposed system reduces the average extra driving required by the users to find a parking area and hence it will reduce traffic congestion, which in turn reduces air pollution caused by unnecessary driving to find a proper parking area.

With the increased number of vehicles, parking supplies should meet parking demands. In urban areas due to Irregular construction and excessive population growth cities required re-planning and site selection of parking places. In this have a look at, technical evaluation became developed to determine vicinity-based totally parking call for with the aid of the use of Geographic data gadget (GIS). After doing observe on parking call for and deliver balance, the region-allocation strategies have been implemented to decide the great places of parking, depending on parking call for. This technical tool becomes tested for an urban location. As a result, a creative records processing method became evolved to determine the quality locations of vehicle parking. Geographic statistics structures (GIS) technology has been used for a numerous plans inside the transportation industry. This GIS device has come with many new makes use of, benefits, and demanding situations. This challenge can display the ability of GIS to help transportation evaluation and planning.

This research is conducted in order to deal with the main problem of traffic congestion and road accidents that is basically caused because of the improper parking management. . Hence, it is important that cities have a well-managed parking system. In the past various researches has been done to design a suitable smart paring algorithm. However, each research had their own pros and cons. Our research leads to a smart algorithm that is secure and is convenient enough to develop a system that can be manage the available slots and can notify the users about the available parking slot beforehand to the client. The result analysis clearly shows that the algorithm proposed and designed is more accurate than other algorithms used in the past. The proposed algorithm is designed using ACO, decision tree, and GPS mapping. The idea of working on this research was to provide a solution that is cost effective, helps people on large scale and maintains the laws and order.

The driver’s selection process of parking lot will consider a variety of influencing factors, and consider different influencing factors for different travel purposes. In this paper, the driver’s travel purposes were divided into three categories according to the degree of emergency: emergency, routine and leisure. Four influencing factors of parking lot selection including walking distance, charge, parking index and parking convenience were selected, and ranked according to their sensitivity, and their sensitivity was analyzed by using the BP (back propagation) neural network, which provides a basis for the development of differentiated parking guidance and parking management measures to avoid the uneven parking due to random selection of parking lot and realize the maximum utilization of parking resources.

The increasing use of private transportation, now more and more public places that provide vehicle storage facilities in their area. This vehicle storage is better known as parking by the community. In Article 1 No. 14 of the Regional Regulation of Indramayu Regency Number 16 of 2017 concerning Parking Management which states that parking can be interpreted as a state of stopping or not moving for a while and being abandoned by the driver. The existence of a parking lot is very helpful for the community, especially for those who have vehicles, you can imagine if there is no parking space. In the concept of this scientific paper using the normative juridical research method. As well as using data collection techniques carried out using descriptive analysis techniques, with secondary data sources, which include primary legal materials such as laws and regulations relating to the Regional Regulation of Indramayu Regency Number 16 of 2017 concerning Parking Management. The purpose of this study is to find out where special parking spaces can be established in the Cimanuk Indramayu culinary tourism object based on Regional Regulation Number 16 of 2017 concerning Parking Implementation and to find out the management of parking special areas in Indramayu based on Regional Regulation of Indramayu Regency Number 16 of 2017 concerning Parking Implementation. The results of this study indicate that in the implementation of Parking Management in Indramayu Regency, it has been regulated in the Regional Regulation of Indramayu Regency Number 16 of 2017 concerning Parking Management and has been in accordance with applicable regulations. But in its implementation, this is not like that because in implementation, the parking lot is a utility, only useful for local governments for regional income but for the community it is very burdensome.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) combines electronic hardware and complex computer vision software algorithms to recognize the characters on vehicle license plate numbers. Many researchers have proposed and implemented ANPR for various applications such as law enforcement and security, access control, border access, tracking stolen vehicles, tracking traffic violations, and parking management system. This paper discusses a live-video ANPR system using CNN developed on an Android smartphone embedded with a camera with limited resolution and limited processing power based on Malaysian license plate standards. In terms of system performance, in an ideal outdoor environment with good lighting and direct or slightly skewed camera angle, the recognition works perfectly with a computational time of 0.635 seconds. However, this performance is affected by poor lighting, extremely skewed angle of license plates, and fast vehicle movement.

One of the endless problem in Jakarta is the potential loss of DKI Jakarta regional government revenue related to parking fees. This study was made to overcome this problem by proposing the utilization of IoT and Big Data technology for smart parking system as a contribution to the Jakarta Smart City plan. Actual real time data of parking management by utilizing IoT brings out the collaboration of tools and technologies which may provide controlling and monitoring features to smart parking system. Furthermore, big data technology allows DKI Jakarta government easily predicts the potential revenue from each parking location spread throughout the city. This paper will discuss about the requirements, system architecture, detection methods and technologies based on commodity hardware and a group of Hadoop MR Platforms to investigate the ability of intelligent parking platforms to process and analyze large data in Jakarta
